The now zero-limbed Sophie is super blessed to have such an encouraging six-limbed best friend!

Holly breathed a sigh of relief. Sophie was finally all collected into the tub. She seemed to have fully liquified, but thankfully was not losing any more of her viscosity. Holly tentatively tapped Sophie's surface with her lower left index finger, sending a gentle ripple through her friend's biomass. "Well, at least you're contained now. I'm hoping you'll congeal back into a solid state, but now that your matter is all mixed together, I don't know how exactly that'll go."
Sophie looked worried.
Holly seemed to pick up on her concern. "If it's any consolation, you should still be able to stretch and move on your own. It's not like you still had any muscles or organs before anyway, so if you could move when shaped as a human, you'll be able to move shaped...however you'll be shaped."
Sophie looked even more concerned.
"Look, okay," Holly explained, "For all I know this is like a giant gelatin mold and you'll be the shape of the inside of the tub. Just stay calm and keep trying to reform, and we'll figure it out one step at a time, okay?"
Sophie looked slightly less worried, but more reassured. She flexed her mass, which seemed to lift part of itself away from the wall of the tub, almost like a blob of pudding.
"Oh! That's a good sign! You're congealing!" Holly hopped up and down in glee.
Phoebe rolled her eyes. "I've never heard anyone say the word 'congeal' with such happiness in my life."
"Hey, when it's your best friend congealing, it's worth celebrating!" Holly huffed.
Phoebe laughed once. "That doesn't sound any less weird, you know."
Holly ignored her, and Sophie tried again, this time managing to peel herself off the wall of the tub in a somewhat permanent fashion. Part of her surface snapped back into her as she separated it from the tub, resulting in a much rounder shape than the semi-boxy shape it previously had. Sophie grunted with gusto as she pulled her other side in the same way, finally fully unsticking from the tub, her body snapping into an oblong, bean-like shape. She grunted again, opening her mouth wide, trying to shout, but her vocal chords seemed to not be fully formed. Sophie thought hard about what having vocal chords felt like, and after feeling something behind her mouth shift, she finally managed to let out an "Urgh!" followed by a "Finally! Wow, I think I'm firming up real good now."
It was true! She was basically a Caucasian beanbag made of stretchy flesh, but as she "sat up" and twisted her "head" to look around, it was clear she was fully in control of this new shape.
Holly suddenly lunged at her, wrapping her arms around the surprised squish-bean and squeezing her with relief. "Sophie! I'm so glad you're okay."
"Mmmphm," Sophie grunted in agreement.
Holly tried to lift Sophie out of the tub, but her "head" simply stretched away from the rest of her body, leaving the rest of her mass in the tub below her. "Oh," Holly realized. "So, moving you is going to be a whole thing, I guess?" She dropped Sophie's "head" and let it snap back into place, her blobular form undulating vigorously from the impact.
"I think I can get out of here myself, but I can still feel myself solidifying, so gimme a second," Sophie told her.
As the next few moments passed, Phoebe and Holly both watched as Sophie's final, solid form took shape, or rather, took a lack of shape. She remained the simple blob she had been, but regained a few more vestiges of her human form. Her red "hair" returned, cupping her blobby "head" tightly, and her suit even emerged from her biomass! It was essentially a gray-and-green sock that covered the lower two-thirds of her body, but it was a sign that her body was figuring out what it was going to be. Unfortunately, it didn't seem that it was going to be much more than a mobile blob.
"I was hoping for a bit more..." Sophie sighed, downcast.
Holly patted her on the head, jiggling her slightly. "It's okay Sophie, try to move, stretch, whatever you need to do! Maybe you can even form limbs if you need them!"
Sophie smiled a little. Holly was right, she just needed to make the most of this. Maybe she would figure out how to get her original shape back, but for now, she needed to get out of the tub. Concentrating, she tried to remember what her legs looked like, flexing her lower mass to try to form the appendages out of it. Several bumps emerged from her lower mass, which looked a bit like toes, but those lost definition as a pair of larger, noodle-like pseudopods extended from the same spot, which looked like legs with no knee joints. They bent ad an odd angle, a crude suggestion of a knee, before finally flopping to the ground and slurping back into her body.
Sophie scoffed, now more determined than ever. Now she knew her body could do this, but she simply didn't know how. For the moment, she didn't need real, human legs, she just needed something to lift her out of the tub. Flexing her lower mass again, she formed it into a pair of pseudopods, much thicker than the previous pair, which comprised the lower half of her entire mass. Now they were plenty strong enough to support her weight. Holly smiled at Sophie as Sophie smiled back. She then took a tentative step up out of the tub...
...and toppled over the edge, tumbling to the bathroom floor in a jiggly mass of flesh, bouncing slightly as the pseudopods melted back into her body. Twisting and shuffling to right herself, Sophie "sat up" again. "Well, that was lame."
"Lame?" Holly asked, incredulous. "Sophie, you don't have limbs, and you found a way to lift yourself out of the tub! That's amazing for a first try with a completely new body shape!"
Sophie smiled sheepishly as Holly crouched down to pat her in congratulations. "You're the girl, Soph! Keep at it, and soon you'll be getting around like it's second nature!"
Phoebe had been watching this unfold in silence, the gravity of her actions finally settling in. Sophie might have been reduced to a blob for the foreseeable future, all because Phoebe felt like taking out a grudge on her. She felt anxious, guilty, and quite sick of herself, honestly. However, seeing Holly and Sophie work through it moved her. She resolved from that moment, she would make it up to Sophie, somehow.
