That sounds like a great idea to me. I'd love to see what you come up with for a theme concept. If you don't mind, it would definitely work better as a Firefox theme though, as we (myself and SoapyHamHocks, who does all of the coding) are much more efficient with theme creation for Firefox.
The best thing to do is take a screenshot of Firefox, with either tabs on bottom, or top depending on your preference, and then create a concept over it. That makes it relatively easy to transfer it over to a real theme being you know exactly what you want it to look like in Firefox.
Feel free to PM me if you want to talk further about this. I can give you our MSN names so we can talk more easily in the PM as well.
Here is my proper critique of your work, now that you were so kind as to gift me a Premium Membership. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/r/r…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Razz) - "/>
I'll update it a little more as well to include my opinion on a few elements I didn't touch on the first time around.
I really like this design. You went a very clean, minimalistic route, and in my opinion, that's one of the better directions to go in today. The font is clean, and yields a very nice rounded look to it. The metallic sheen of the text and logos were done properly, and in very good taste. You also chose fitting levels of transparency for the text against different backgrounds, which is also an important design choice that may be hard to find the perfect value for, and I think you nailed it.
The use of red and black is very well done, and helps bring focus to important areas of the page. The gray background is very easy on the eyes, which is something you really want in a web page. Many MySpace pages and layouts are very poorly done and harsh on the eyes.
The colors you chose for the navigational tabs and Quick Contact spaces look really nice and help separate them from the background. This makes it easy to see them, but not so much that it detracts from the page as a whole.
Your logo is extremely unique and I love the styling of it. The logo and the picture of your face add a very personal touch to the design.
I don't really have anything negative or bad to say about this, it's really well done. Great job!
I find myself capitalizing unnecessary letters more and more often lately. I tend to keep the shift key held down just a second too long and that causes me to capitalize the first two letters, rather than just the first.
Anyway, I can't want to see it when it's done. Be sure to drop me a PM or something to let me know.
I love the use of colors in your designs. I can always expect it to be extremely clean and easy on the eyes. You've found the perfect values for the reds too, the perfect middle-ground between light and dark.
Something I may not have elaborated on is the layout of your concepts. Everything is at hand and placed properly within the page. I can't believe I haven't mentioned this before, as this is probably the most important thing aside from the actual design itself!
The typeface for the Eye of the Ram title looks great, and really stands out from other boring fonts I've seen. It is also really interesting because of your use of gradients and textures. The logo and the title text on the page have a cloudy, grungy appearance to them that really makes them a distinct aspect of the design.
The frame for the feed (area with the picture and description) is also an integral part of the design. I like that you decided to make the arrows continue past the frame, which also showcases the transparency used to reveal the area behind the arrows. Again, the red chosen is the perfect value, and is comfortable for viewing.
Another thing I find important in a page that has titles and descriptions is ensuring the user can distinguish between the two. You have given enough of a difference in color/brightness to easily identify which is which.
Do you create all of your logos, shapes, and icons yourself? They look excellent and really complement the design.
The only thing I can suggest you change are a few possible typos, which aren't that important as this is only a concept, but I feel that I should mention them anyway. I know Photoshop doesn't have any sort of spell-checking, so you are bound to miss a word or two, I know I have.
Under Logo Design, did you mean to said user "business", or was it your intent to say "busyness"? Under Album Cover Design, did you aim to write striving to "succeed"? Also, in the footer, it says All names and logos for Eye of the Ram are trademarks of Eye of "tHE" Ram.
Overall, the design is very complete, clean, and well organized, and would look fantastic as a real website!
