M3 CSL Vexel by Bondy-1725 M3 CSL Vexel by Bondy-1725
ahaaaa!! a complete piece! i have been gradually building up to this.
ive been putting in about an hours work or more per day for a week maybe longer.
about 10 or 11 hours work total.
very painful for the ol index finger cos of all the selecting with the stupid pen tool
i have worked very hard to get this finished and have learnt a lot from the experience.
like for example: vexel art takes a loooooong time! :giggle:
anyway yea i have it in various sizes 1600, 1152, 1024, 800 and 640 so if u want a different size just ask
though i wouldnt recommend the 1600 as its a little too close for my liking ;)
there are some jaggies and glitches, fuck ups and mishaps but overall i am very very happy with how it turned out....at a distance anyway

but yea the one i uploaded is 1280 x 960
the original image was 1600 x 1200

enjoy! i certainly have!

EDIT: added some more detail to the rim that i couldnt be bothered to do earlier! :D

EDIT: Re-categorized to comply with vexel/vector rules :)

This is pretty damn good if you ask me. You obvioulsy know what you're doing and it shows, I dont' think i can bother to give pointers, I'd ask what you're using, but I'm guessing either illustrator, photoshop or some other program. Far as I know I can't immitate closely, least in the smoothness of stuff like this. If anything yet... hopefully.

As for you, it's pretty good, the M3 CSL in GT4 is a favorite of mine (that and the M3 GTR), the only cars I like as much as the M3 would be the Honda NSX-R and Chevroelt Corvette Z06 (C5 2000-2004), you've done a good job of doing it some extent of justice, look pretty slick, reminds me of a cartoon, or that racing game by capcom. Keep it up there, you're doing good.

thanks rossriders, im using adobe photoshop 7.0 (really should get it updated).
if you wanna get the lines nice n smooth u gotta get up real close i plotted all my paths for this at about 600 or 700% magnifacation.

yer in gt4 i prefer the normal m3 just cos it comes in so many more colours. ive never really liked the C5 corvette Z06 but the C4 and C3 really turn me on! my favourite corvette in the game is a Black C4 ZL-1 on black rims with chrome lips. anyway 'that racing game' is called auto modellista i believe and i own a copy of that also. :p

Ah. I guess when most of the time playing GT4 I'm spending it looking at the road, sometimes I don't pay so much attention to the car colors, though sometimes I do since I seam to be stuck selecting yellow for every Z06 I have used since GT3 (though the first in GT3 was red, the next was silver and then yellow... also has to do loosely with my Initial D story as I'm doing some extent of research and the fact since theres photomode, I can take these pictures and either vector off of them, or I can actually try and do a free-hand drawing... I actually tried to do a freehand drawing of the M3 GTR off of a GT4 screenshot... but I lost the thing... :(... but I guess I'll just try again...), and sometimes you would like more color variety, but heck, they were going for what was there in reality to an extent so there (I bet on some fourms if and when we have cars like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS... people will complain about the fact last time I checked, the only color for the body is white, while you can select colors for the wheels..).

The ZR-1 was actually the first 'supercar' I came to like at early childhood, the 2nd being the Ferrari F40 (and they still are), I've only tried the ZR-1 so far stock on N2 spec tires, feels alright enough, a few changes and this car can be outright lethal in the right hands. The C5 Z06 initially, I thought was not so great, but once you learn how to use it, IMHO anywho, it's outright badass as it can take on anything except for obvious far off supercars like the Zonda and Mercedes SLR. At the least though I can take on a Lan evo and Skyline GTR (Subaru WRX STi as well), I wish PD put more effort into capturing the sound of the LS6 under the hood of the Corvette, same for the LT5 in the ZR-1 but well... maybe it's hardware limitations or something, maybe they'll get it right in GT5 (I have some hope since one or two FD RX-7s I've tired actually sound close to IRL RX-7 FDs...).

I'll take your suggestion on the lines, and well see what I can do, least with elements, thanks for the tip.
