Everrest, mother of Corrigan, plucked clean of her feathers around the face and shoulders, is every bit as seductive as she is hungry...

neat! i love the fact that its all in grayscale, and it's so soft too - what did you do it with?

looks like...it could be a variety of things or even a combination of things from pastels/ watercolors to photoshop....(at least the way *I* do things) and are the lines underneath in places ink?

Actually, I just used photoshop, but I was working with a Wacom tablet, so I could do all the detail line work by hand. It's nice. I had several reference photos to work from, one for the face and one for the hair. I plan to do more and would like to try some traditional watercolors as well.

i have a lot of respect for ANYONE who can draw on a tablet - i can't do it. mind you, i've not had much opportunity to try, but the times i have were EPIC fail....

well, i'll be waiting to see more :)

It takes some time getting used to. Do you normally draw by hand? Or paint?

I've heard some people put paper overtop the tablet so that it feels more like drawing rather than a slick surface. You might want to try it and see if it makes a difference.

i draw by hand with a lot of crosshatching
the problem i had was that when i picked up the 'pen' i couldn't guarantee where it would start on the screen when i set it down again, completely ruining my flow of movement.

which was why if i could afford it, i might have tried one of those touch screen tablets where you draw directly on the screen but...*sigh* i dunno...

Oh, they looked nice. I've never tried a touch-screen. How about an ipad?

Actually, with a wacom tablet, if you keep your pen close to the tablet, you will see it moving around on the screen. It will only draw a line if you touch the pad. Give that a try.

well, can't afford any of 'em anyway, so its all a pipe dream. i was only able to borrow someones wacom for a brief try a few years ago. and that was the last time i saw her - i don't know anyone else with a tablet or anything i can even try to mess with.

though if an ipad does art......i gotta look into that thing!

I think it might. Have you seen them? It's a flat screen that could sit on your lap. That's all I know. My boss was talking about getting one.

Here's a site that might help: www.newegg.com they have fairly decent pricing when it comes to computer stuff. That's where I got my tablet.
