I'm attending a few Comic Cons each year here in the UK- usually towards the South East. I update with details of these on Social media (see links below), so best to go there for updates about upcoming Con attendances.
For those that don't know, I've written a few instructional manga art books over the years...* 'Digital Manga'
is available for humans to buy on my website : An in-depth tutorial book teaching virtually everything I know about Photoshop and colouring characters.
* 'The Artist's Guide to Drawing Manga'
is also now available on my site : A beginners guide to manga and character creation. It's effectively an updated version of my older book 'The Art of Drawing Manga'.
Although aimed at beginners/amateurs, with 67,000 words of written content across both books, I'd like to think there's at least something in there that most artists could benefit from and enjoy
Both titles are sold within the UK. I can also ship to Europe, US and worldwide also. Alternatively search for them on Amazon.
Last year the book 'Art Class: Manga Art
' went on sale which combines the two books mentioned above. It was a good opportunity to revise a few portions of the books and always pretty cool to have another publication with my name printed on the cover
I'm still proud of these books and their contents and know many aspiring artist would find a lot of it beneficial. Although I'm guessing 90%+ aspiring artists these days are getting all their art education solely online since annual sales of my books have decreased massively over the last decade. With the digital age firmly upon us, it makes sense. But it always feels disappointing and frustrating when very few eyeballs are pointing towards the products you've spent so much time creating, as I'm sure most artists can relate.
I've been tattooing part-time for maybe 9 years now, having carried out well over 400 tattoos or sessions to date. Seems like a lot but I guess it's the equivalent to 2 years of intensive, full-time tattooing? Working the tattoo job along side my art and design job has been working out ok for me. Love having a bit of variety in my life and at least a tattoo is one thing customers can't get for free online!
As you can probably see, I'm not too active on here these days and mostly post on Instagram. Maybe I should create and post something to celebrate 100K DA page views if I reach that amount by the end of the year?Social Media Stuff:
