Great image!
Do you know what those plants are with the tightly curled leaves? I used to live in an apartment with them right outside the window; we could always tell the temperature by how tightly they curled. Now, I can't remember what they were!

Thanks! Not absolutely sure, but I believe those are rhododendrons.

I've rafted down the river quite a few times in this area. Never saw that building though. The area is full of abandoned railroad tunnels, bridges, etc.

Wish I knew what this building is, pretty stumped from I've searched online. It's next to Luke's Falls though, did find a blog from someone else exploring the area at the following link: uncoveringpa.com/visiting-luke…

The blog author is not entirely sure either what purpose this building served, although one person did reply to say he believed it was the "base of a wooden water tower necessary for steam locomotives to operate."

It also could have been a stone water tower that lost its base. Looks like it was probably a water tower of some design.

What a beautiful scene this is....

I would love to view this area in summer also, that little stone hut would be excellent
to do a painting of as the forest comes alive after winter...Clap Clap Clap
