Do you know what those plants are with the tightly curled leaves? I used to live in an apartment with them right outside the window; we could always tell the temperature by how tightly they curled. Now, I can't remember what they were!
The blog author is not entirely sure either what purpose this building served, although one person did reply to say he believed it was the "base of a wooden water tower necessary for steam locomotives to operate."
I would love to view this area in summer also, that little stone hut would be excellent
to do a painting of as the forest comes alive after winter...
