Been a while since my last journal entry, or comments for that matter beyond my occasional replies. A tough year to be sure, at times testing my own patience & sanity even as an introvert, but always grateful for your support. Meanwhile I'd like to share this journal entry with you, taken from my own & previously neglected blog at https://www.boldfrontiers.com/blog/2020/12/renewed-optimism Once upon a time in what seems the distant past of 2019, life was great and photo opportunities were teeming at every corner. I had started the New Year with a trip to Wales (UK), spring in Utah & Idaho, then autumn in Virginia, Tennessee & North Carolina. Fast forward a few months, news of a novel coronavirus started trickling in. Thinking at first it would subside with some isolated cases on the West coast, that it could be contained like previous outbreaks of SARS & Ebola. I am driving down South soon for a few weeks hoping to capture some autumn foliage. A long awaited trip since last spring as I tend to recess over summer with warmer & more humid weather, during a time I can sit down and enjoy the great (air conditioned) indoors while processing a never-ending backlog of images Well into autumn now, wishing I could have gone out sooner... but unfortunately bogged down by a series of unfortunate events in the space of a few weeks with the passing of a godmother, an aunt, a cousin, and what I thought to be a close call with my 18 year old cat.
