Walking Through Barbed Wire

Walking through barbed wire isn’t just painful—it’s a test. A test of endurance, of patience, of how much you can take before you finally collapse.

The sharp edges bite into flesh, but what choice do you have? There’s no turning back. There’s only forward, step by step, careful not to flinch, not to let the pain win.

People like to talk about strength as if it’s something loud, something obvious. But real strength? It’s quiet. It’s the ability to keep moving, to keep breathing, even when every step tears a little more from you.

I’ve learned not to cry out. Not because it doesn’t hurt—God, it does—but because what good would it do? The world doesn’t stop for pain. It doesn’t offer a hand when you stumble. It watches, waiting to see if you’ll break.

So, I don’t.

I don’t look down at the blood, at the scars forming in real time. I don’t count the wounds. I just walk.

The trick is to stop fearing the pain. To accept it, let it carve its lessons into your skin, but never let it own you. That’s what they don’t tell you—pain is only unbearable when you resist it. When you fight it, it grows teeth, it digs deeper. But if you welcome it, if you let it in without fear, it loses its power.

I take another step, another wound, another test.

But I’m still standing.

And that’s all that matters.
