Friday, August 17th 2012 from 6PM until 9PM will be the opening night ceremony/reception for the two person show that Cassandra Graham and myself will be putting on at the Yellow Springs Ohio, Arts Council Building. The show is entitled "The Carnival of Souls" Please join us there if you think you'll be visiting Ohio, the USA or might be making plans to do so! The show will run thereafter for several weekends on Saturday and Sunday until the middle of September...we will be at the show on these days as well so you can come meet us as well as see our work in person.


In other news...I just found out that I got a mention and a sort of feature in the July issue of Dolls magazine! shop.dollsmagazine.com/back-is… It's an article about this year's Quinlan Art Doll and Teddy Bear show and I am mentioned in the section about those pieces purchased by the Quinlan's for their Art  Doll museum in Santa Barbra California USA! My piece Elias the Valley Strider- which is the piece they purchased and that now resides in the aforementioned museum- is the one piece the publisher chose to print a photo thereof! It's not a hug photo...but it's right there in the article and towards the front of the issue!

Just found out that I will be doing a 45 minute demo/presentation at the 2013 Quinlan Art Doll and Teddy Bear Show!

..on a side note, I was just informed that the links on the header to this journal went to pages that are not my own...I guess no one else has ever checked them out! They are fixed now....so....yeah...thanks to my dear friend for cluing me in to the over site.

Multi-talented artist Cassandra Graham- wild life painter, jewelry artist and now doll artist- and I have been accepted to participate in the Yellow Springs Ohio Arts Center show this year in August- the show runs through September. We are very excited to premier our first real joint show...this will be the maiden launch of:

Carnival of Souls -

A rich, entirely original, one-of-a-kind palette of characters expressing fantasy, myth, humor and portraiture as well as the outrageous.
Two separate and different visions with a common thread of creating small 'souls' to intrigue and delight the viewer - all from a piece of clay.

UPDATE CORRECTION

I have a an update on the dates for the show I'll be co-hosting with Cassandra Graham- the Carnival of Souls. This is to be at the Yellow Springs Arts Center in Ohio from August 17-September 9th 2012- starting with a Gallery Reception that Friday- the 17th- as part of Yellow Spring's "Friday Fling". The gallery will be open on each Saturday during those dates. Times are tentative for now...10Am to...?

I hope to see you there... I believe it is weekends only...? Further updates and confirmations on those dates forthcoming... STAY TUNED! If any one else here is in or near this part of Ohio- or in or near Ohio at all- I invite you to visit Yellow Springs and to stop by the show. Yellow Springs Ohio is a lovely little town with some small amount of notoriety- it is the home of Antioch University which counts among its most famous alumni Rod Searling! Hey folks- this came together at the last minute for me, but it looks like I'll have a spot at the  Artist Doll & Teddy Bear Convention! It's  presented by the Susan Quinlan Doll & Teddy Bear Museum! It will be at the Ramada Airport Hotel in  Philadelphia, PA on May 3-5, 2012! And Saturday it's all open to the public...come check it out and drop by and see me if you are there!
