The Journey Part 2
Part Two:  On The Road.
I walked down to the post office today because the sun was shining, intermittently, although it turned out to be a very cold day.  When I got to the post office and opened my mail box there was nothing in it.  The only thing I had obtained from this trip was earache.  My mind began to wander, and in contemplating the stream beside which I walked, I came upon a resolution to a problem in my story.

The Lark Ascending
at the point of noon,
rising from the ground
in to the vast sky
a speck;
a fluttering, plain, brown bird
hovers above it all
and sings
such love:
of mother for child;
beautiful lullaby,
born out of fear
for its children,
down in the deep furrows
carved by the heedless plough.
against the blue
the tiny heart beats and bursts
upon the eternal;
brief life yearns to persist.
nothing will ever be
as this day:
sky never so blue;
clouds never so white;
never again such ecstasy;
even man and woman
cannot reach so high.
epitome of song,
delicate creature,
let this moment be a grave,
this intensity a cradle,
for everything loved is here:
home,
wide fields, endless sky,
distant hills and trees,
smell of mingling chalk and clay.
how long will you stay up there?
how long can so much joy be borne?
kite strings will strain and break,
free you to return
to children and nest.
but the tune will come again,
the heart will dance to the old folk song,
sung for thousands of years,
for thousands more,
keepin

Literature
The Healing Forest.
In the healing forest
the trees are tall and shady.
The boughs are lit by brightly coloured birds
that sing soft lullabies.
There is a soft and mossy bed
beside a bubbling spring.
Here the deer and her fawn
bow their gentle heads to drink.
A cat sleeps, curled and gently purring;
a breeze sighs in the lower branches.
The scent of tiny, unseen flowers
permeates the air.
Here you lie, quiet and healing,
And time passes in no time at all.

Still Not Dead Yet

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 19, 2012, 11:39 AM
Well, the Doctor thinks it's stress which probably explains my complete lack of enthusiasm for anything at the moment. Currently trying to remove the largest sources of stress from my life at the moment so looking for a new job as that's by far the biggest.

Went out for the weekend with my camera just trying to take my mind off things. So here's some pictures of street art in Milton Keynes (Saturday) and the Red Kites of Princes Risborough (Sunday).

Oh yeah, and one picture of my brother's dog, Wally :)

Aww, "no recent activity". I have come back after an interlude and so many old friends have stopped submitting. :(
Even so, I hope you are well and happy where ever you are.
