Supreme Almighty Mother Goddess Durga Devi slaying the powerful demon Bhandasura. The epic of the rise of the evil Bhandasur, his reign of terror and ultimately his destruction at the hands of the Great Goddess, the mighty omnipotent Devi Lalitha Tripura Sundari (Adi Shakti Durga Mata) is extensively elaborated in Lalithasahasranama (100 names of Super Goddess Shri Lalitha), a text occurring in Bhramanda Mahapurana, an extremely sacred text of Hindus.
Bhandasur had initially sent his 30 demon sons to quell Devi all of whom were, needless to say, torn apart by the invincible Goddess in no time. She also displayed Her unquestionable supremacy by demolishing with blows from Her bare hands, the huge army of demons deployed by Bhandasur to subdue the Almighty Adi Shakti. In the end, Bhandasur proceeded to challenge the Great Goddess, got crushed at Her hands and lost everything he had wrongfully amassed from the devas. Thus Mother Goddess Durga like always, this time in the form of Lalitha Tripureshwari having restored peace and saving Her children from evil forces was rigorously extolled by the devas who all worshiped Her holy feet in deep reverence before earning Her blessings.
