I hadn't written in here for sometime so here it is. After a lot of negotiation and waiting, one of a series of photos taken for another business was picked and will be published for a children's reader by McGraw-Hill in 2014. The photo will appear in a story about a bat house. Thanks to Samantha and Amanda at TSI Graphics and Erika at McGraw-Hill for all of their help without it would not have been possible, thanks for finding me.

HDR or Not

What's with the "pseduo HDR"? Who made this up anyway? Digital cameras have higher dynamic ranges than film. The following relates to Nikon .NEF raw image format and getting all of it out.The original .NEF files are 12 or 14 bit. .NEF raw images cannot be viewed in their entirety in a single image unless what was recorded by the ccd or cmos are compiled and tone-mapped. The only way that is currently possible is with HDR software be it Adobe, Photomatix, et. al.
