I wanted to do something with essence in it, but the original idea of Sunburst performing an overacted, almost Shakespearian reaction to being sprayed by them didn't really seem to add much to the idea. Then I remembered one of my favourite Foxtrot comics from years back, and having wanted to make a reference for some time, the idea was set!
