Anyways, this is the second Tesselation drawing I've done. Although the main concept remains the same, this time around I wanted to keep the subject matter a bit more realistic, as well as maintain a relative size for items to their surrounding comrades. You may notice that there are no brand name objects in the picture, but there are certainly imaginative equivalents that I made up so I could still use the general idea. Push F11 on your keyboard to see it a little better.
As before, there is another hidden picture inside the piece. Think Karaoke.
You're very close. It's more or less two singers singing. One male, one female, like you said, with the boy on the right and the girl on the left. However, instead of holding hands, the are holding microphones.
I only used references for objects that I wasn't sure what they looked like off the top of my head. Some examples would be the Boston Terrier, the pistol, umbrella, deck of cards or the dollar bill. As for the hidden picture, some have mentioned that it is easier to see from distance. You could try to view it from the thumbnail and see if it helps any.
What I like about this one is the fact that the tragedy of the Nuclear Attack on the TV seems to have assimilated itself into all this no-brand commercial kitsch which suggests a happy disco environment in a pile of crap. Cool!(And of course ypoo's greatest hits.)
Although surprisingly, as long as it took I got it finished much quicker than the other works I've done. This one took around a month, but my first tesselation drawing took over 3 months! And I like this one so much better.
