She has been lonely all this time, she has endured solitude the best way she could. But now, she can't take it any longer. So here she stands, still alone, but unable to hide her sorrow. Weeping amid a meadow of anemones.

Indeed, these flowers mean "forsaken, sadness, lost love", as they're said to have bloomed from the tears Aphrodite shed over the death of her beloved Adonis. That's why I chose to draw her with this flower - though in this painting, it's not about the death of a loved one: it's about her lack of emotional support.


...I never liked those flowers much (because I don't find them pretty), but now that I know their meaning in flower language, I like them even less! :lol:
