Description
The office had never looked like this before.
Red lanterns hung from shelves and doorframes, gold paper banners lined the walls, and a faint scent of tea and fresh paper filled the air. Confetti drifted lazily whenever someone moved too quickly. It was clear—this was not a normal workday.
At the center of it all stood Zhilan Yue, the Queen of Shadows, calm and composed as ever. Her long black hair flowed neatly over her shoulders, shadow tendrils swaying gently around the hem of her dark-pink gown. A ruby crown rested lightly atop her head as she surveyed the room with sharp brown eyes.
“We will celebrate Chinese New Year properly,” she said evenly. “Orderly. Respectfully.”
She paused. “…Preferably without chaos.”
Behind her, Li Xiu—Pink Venom—stood tall at 6’2”, muscular arms crossed as she adjusted the reading glasses on her nose. Her sleek pink cheongsam fit her powerful, athletic frame perfectly. She held a scroll in one hand, clearing her throat.
“Right,” Li said confidently. “First item—New Year wishes.”
She began reading aloud, her voice strong and playful. “May the year bring prosperity, strength, and fewer unexpected explosions—”
From the corner of the room came a quiet snrk of laughter.
Near the chalkboard, the blue-fur Tickle Monster stood on his toes, chalk in hand. His curved horns tilted forward as he scribbled enthusiastically. Lantern doodles. Firecrackers. Smiley faces.
Then one more line.
Li Xiu’s sharp brown eyes flicked up from her scroll—and she saw what he had written. Her mouth fell open slightly.
“Reminder for Chinese New Year: Pink Venom is fiercest warrior—
but SUPER ticklish right at the belly button.”
Her cheeks instantly flushed a deep, rosy red. She swallowed, adjusted her reading glasses nervously, and tried to focus back on the scroll—but her voice betrayed her.
“Wha-… ha-hey!” she squeaked in a cute, high-pitched squeaky voice, turning her head to glance at the board. “I—I did NOT authorize that!”
The Tickle Monster froze for just a moment… then grinned wider, tail swishing behind him. “I’m just… adding festive notes!” he said innocently, though his eyes twinkled with mischief.
Li crossed her arms tightly over her chest, trying to hide her embarrassment, her blush deepening. “You… you can’t just write about my ticklish spot for everyone to see!” she stammered, squeaky and flustered.
Zhilan Yue tilted her head slightly, a soft smile tugging at her lips. “Mmm,” she said calmly, glancing at the board. “I suppose I agree. It is… unexpectedly cute.”
Li groaned and buried her face slightly in the scroll. “Queen… please tell me that’s NOT going on the official Chinese New Year note,” she said, her voice a mix of indignation and playful panic.
The Tickle Monster’s tail twitched, and he leaned closer, whispering (loud enough for Li to hear): “Relax… just a little mischief. Totally harmless.”
Li squirmed and giggled, squealing lightly again. “You… you’re impossible!”
Zhilan covered her mouth to stifle a laugh, enjoying the scene. “I warned you,” she said calmly. “But that was… remarkably effective.”
Then, before Li could recover, the Tickle Monster gave a quick, playful poke at her belly fast and teasing, just enough to make her squeal again, followed by an adorable little snort.
Li yelped and waved her hands, cheeks flaming. “HEY! NO—”
“Confirmed!” the Tickle Monster announced cheerfully. “Most ticklish spot officially verified!”
Zhilan shook her head with an amused smile. “You two are incorrigible,” she said fondly. “Now, can we please return to planning?”
Li straightened, still blushing, but couldn’t help laughing at the playful chaos. “I… I’m watching you,” she muttered at the Monster, who grinned innocently, tail swishing behind him.
With lanterns swaying gently overhead, confetti drifting in the air, and laughter echoing through the office, the three of them resumed planning their Chinese New Year celebration mischief, laughter, and secret ticklish weaknesses included.
