Sketch Dump: Bath Culture- Necklaces by bluestarproduction Sketch Dump: Bath Culture- Necklaces by bluestarproduction
Yup, time to talk culture in Bath, or at least a very special part of it. In Bath when a baby is born its relatives all have these necklaces made for the baby, made from various types of beads( normally wood or glass) with flowers on them symbolizing things that you hope the baby is blessed with. Since it is irresponsible to let an infant wear these for extended periods of time, they're normally only worn for the gifting ceremony and then stored in a little box until the child is old enough to wear them as bracelets. Here we see one of Laurel's which represents a prayer for long life with it's chrysanthemums, a baby with it's necklaces on, and Laurel's older brother Wilson's arm( Wilson is in fact a big baby and wears all of his because they make him feel loved)
