Back to school FOR REAL!

Journal Entry: Thu Feb 18, 2010, 8:10 PM
  • Listening to: the sound of printers in the morning
  • Watching: Photoshop batch process.
  • Drinking: the best jasmine tea EVAR. STILL.

This is something that's been in the works for months, but I haven't spread it all over because it's been a bundle of work and waiting and anxiety.  I haven't posted much art in the last couple of months because I've been so busy either applying or fretting.

But now it's official!  I've got the word and I've been accepted to grad school!  I'm going to get my Master's in Information Systems!  WOOHOO!

To commemorate this, have some embarrassing practice sketches I've been doodling.

YAY! *^_^* Are you still going to have your library job while you're in grad school? I know lots of grad students aren't allowed to have jobs...

I'll have to move to be close to campus (Penn State actually has a terrible program for my field of choice, so I didn't apply here), so I figure I might as well attend school full-time. I'm angling for a graduate assistantship, but if that doesn't work out, I'll probably pick up a part-time job while I attend classes.

Ah I remember when I went back to college in 2006. I was so excited, and at the same time I thought that I'd be the worst student, because I had skipped the first year. Yeah, right. It turned out that reading WoD books in English, chatting on the web and partaking in NaNoWriMo were actually pretty good ways of becoming a good student. XD

If you've got the endurance for NaNoWriMo and the and language skills for RPGs, yeah, I'd say that's a pretty good start. :D

Well, given that I was meant to study English language and civilization, it sure gave me a frelling edge as far as vocabulary goes. :D

Endurance for NaNoWriMo in 2005 was nothing, though. In 2009, I discovered what endurance meant: doing NaNo while having to prepare classes for kids, teach them to said kids, attending other classes for young teachers 2 days/week, and being sick with some kind of half-bronchitis for half the months. Oddly enough, I went through NaNo like a breeze: it was the easiest part. XD
