Ah well, it could've been worse.

I seem to have been appointed to Team Seeker.  While I came to hate those books with a passion, it's still better than Twilight.

And I have a llama badge!  Thankee, Not-So-Mysterious Benefactor!

Seeker or Twilight... I wonder what's worse. XD

It's a tough one. There are more books to endure in the Seeker series. The plot is less mind-numbingly dumb, but I think the morality the story espouses may actually be a bit evil...or at least it is *seriously* creepy (you get to choose between having dictatorial wizards own your soul or getting mind controlled by a Communist barbarian? Euuugh, no thanks). And frankly I don't find the characters any brighter or the love story any less obnoxious than in Twlight. On the other hand, the pure aggravation factor of teenage vampire romance is not to be underestimated.

Thanks for the llama, though!

I lasted through the first 6 books. Mostly because it was at a period of my life when I *needed* somewhat mind-numbing reads, that I could consider as 'better laugh than cry' (preparing for a competitive exam). As soon as the oral exam was over, I dropped the books, though.

And yeah, much, much "WTF" snickering. I mean, Darken Rahl. Sheesh. 'Little Father'. And the chars aren't that better, I agree.

Pretty much the same reason I started reading them. The first few were charming in their silliness and had enough uniqueness to hold my interest. But after a while it started getting really ridiculous. :)

I kind of liked Darken Rahl, though. Pity he didn't survive very long. He was much better than Whatsisface, the dreamwalker. Jaghang? Or was that a Wheel of Time character? I can't remember anymore; I started reading both series at the same time, in 9th grade, and they both went on forever.

I can't believe WOT *still* isn't finished. XD

Jagang, and yes, it's in the same series, and he grated on my nerves much. (I don't remember the name of the big baddie in WoT; I lasted until volume 9, then I gave up and promptly forgot much of what I had read, probably because 99,9% of the characters are just so innerving and don't get my vote).

Darken Rahl wasn't so bad in himself; he just has a somewhat silly name. (But hey, who am I to talk? Our former minister of education was called Xavier Darcos, after all!).
