Zan by Bluesrat Zan by Bluesrat
Zan is one of my favorite NPCs--a Jedi Master, and a master spy. During the war (before he was a Jedi), he worked from within the Imperial military to help the Bothans get the information they needed to bring down the Emperor. He's also a bit of a goofball. I'm not sure if he's just a tad more dopey than he lets on, or if he really likes screwing with people. Despite the actiony pose, he seldom gets to be a badass, and even when he does, he's as amusing as he is impressive. Poor Zan. He's shown in these clothes because he hate-hate-hates the Jedi robes. No idea why. I suspect he thinks they're corny.

What I learned: One of the great things about Photoshop is the ability to adjust out the freaky errors that appear in the acctual drawing. I hate that, because it always happens when I get something *just right,* except that I realize it's in the wrong place. :P Scanny scanny, zap zap zap. Hur.

Anyway, the pose is good, except I feel like it's missing something. I think I should've put him in a long coat. At least, I think the pose is good. Is it? *sigh* I have such a hard time telling until I put the thing down for a week and then come back to it. Which I should've done with this, I suppose. In the future, when I'm working on something I seriously want to look good (which actually wasn't really the case with this), I think I'll do the guidelines, avoid it for a week, and then go back and make adjustments before I start filling in the body. The things we learn, eh?

Oh, yes, there´s a lot of action in the drawing, especially his legs are really well drawn!

The pose is good. The only thing missing is the change of camera angle to see the room full of surprised stormtroopers fumbling their way up from their poker game to face his explosive entry into the guard room of their dread master's secret sanctum.

But that's a bit much to ask from one character drawing. *grin*

Seriously, it looks good.
