Steamy Ree by Bluesrat Steamy Ree by Bluesrat
Well, there's a bit of that steampunk Star Wars going around, you know, and our particular group...well, we do like the Star Wars, and the steampunk, and our GM is just a sucker for a Victorian setting. So when my sister remarked one day how easy it would be, really, to have a planet where people tapped geothermal power and preferred the aesthetic of a simpler time, it simply became a matter of fate.

And of course I had to draw it.

Our Jedi, Ree Shevan, is ready to do battle for justice no matter what she's wearing.

Really good detail on the outfit and expression. She doesn't look like the typical Star Wars girl.

I love her dress! <3 She *seems* like what a Victorian Jedi would be like - proper, polite, courteous, but at the same time, deadly!

The other one with the pistols, I could have seen her in breeches, as a Victorian tomboy, but this one - complete lady. But then, you said the other was a Princess, so I guess it wouldn't have fit with her personality...

I considered putting Onna (the one with the guns) in breeches, but she's the best-dressed of the group normally, so I figured she should get something fancier than that.

I am very happy with how the Jedi's dress came out. I'm not the best costume designer in the world, so I'm easily please. :D

Wow! Show this on SnE yet? I know it isn't Werewolf or anything but this is good! :D I do love the detail to the clothing and posing.

Thank you! No, I hadn't considered showing it on SnE, but I suppose I could. :)

Wow this is a great image! It looks like you have really taken a quantum leap forward in your work! I would love to convince you to do a pin-up for my site at [link] where we do Star Wars fan comics and RPG material.

I just noticed she's got a pocket watch and watch fob!! Wonderful little detail that makes the picture pop.

Thank you! :) I really tried to pay attention to the details here. My work can use some improvement in that regard.

She'll look wonderful in color too, if you feel so inclined. :) The details are what keep me looking up period costume, etc.

I do feel inclined. :) I'm looking forward to it, but I want to finish drawing the group first.

I'm thrilled that it's inspired you to the point of research! :) I'm not sure how historically accurate it is: I mean, I certainly made up some of it. Women didn't normally go around wearing tuxedo coats, for one thing. But hopefully the tailoring at least takes something from the time period.

Oh, I love her outfit and the way she is moving with her light saber! Excellent work!

The detail on her jacket is really great. And I love the overall movement with her dress and hair.
