Doc Quantum is fighting off some sort of ravenous beast! Again!

So this picture is why I started messing around with inking. It practically drew itself, then I thought I wanted to color it--except that every time I tried I couldn't get it to work (in that special way where anybody looking at it can't see what the problem is, but to you it's like banging your head off a wall).

Then my sister showed me what she'd been working on, and I thought, "Oh! I think it wants to be inked!" (because at this point I have conceded that this picture has a mind of its own). I tried and failed miserably three times, but fourth, fifth or sixth time is the charm, right?

If I develop any kind of actual skill at this, I expect I'll look back at this and cringe, but for the moment it works for me! And now the coloring is working, too, so hooray!

Some of the line weights are a little haphazard, but you're definitely improving. Can't wait to see the finished colored version. :)

You should ask me to ink some of your pieces. I think it'd be fun.

You could ink this one. How come I have to *ask* you to ink my work? :D

Emphasize/bold the lines forming the triangle across his shoulders and down the outside of the arms to his hands.

Also, his legs are more massive than his shoulders and arms. I would increase the width of his shoulders, and the girth of his upper arms so things are more balanced.

The stronger lines on his arms do look better, thanks. Yeah, I realized a bit late that I made his legs too big. I tweaked them down a bit, but adjusting the picture any further would pretty much require doing it all over again.

Something to keep in mind if I try this again after I've figured out what I'm doing. :)
