This is my another practice drawing, which means that I put into it much more work than was needed - it already looked pretty good at an early stage of drawing. But thanks to this now it looks much better, so definitely it was worth it.

I wanted to try to draw Pinkie Pie's mane, she has the hardest mane to draw from all mane 6 for me.
I also wanted to draw at least one positive image of her before I will draw another sad or maybe even a little bloody one.

The hardest part? You won't guess, the simplest looking part of the image - background. And I'm still not sure about it, because I also considered alternative options which looks good and I couldn't decide which one to choose.

Cute work. The hair is style uniquely and has nice flow to it.

I was afraid if it will come out well, she has so crazy hairstyle. :)

Omg I love this! This is AMAZING!

I took a test to see what mlp pony I would be and it said pinkie pie.

For me, for a change, it turned out that I have the most in common with Fluttershy and Twilight. And I'm the least like Pinkie Pie.

Hmmm well a couple of my friends took the tests too and they got different ponies. We have a RD and a Twi. Btw how did u learn how to draw like this?
blueSpaceling's avatar
It take a lot of hard work, trial and error method, do a lot of search for references and observation to understand and feel drawn objects. I also get inspiration from others who are better than me. But the most important is not to copy others but try to find your own way.

Interesting.... Hmmm well u should make these into youtube vids. U know speedpaints. You would do really well!

Currently my drawing process is too "spread over time" for speedpaint videos, even if I would speed up a lot the vid.

Pray tell, what is it about Rarity that makes you unable to colour her exactly like you coloured Pinkie?
blueSpaceling's avatar
Not counting artistic blockade, the problem is not that I can't color her the same way. The problem is background and all other things around character - no matter how simple they look at the sketch. I don't want to ruin great images with plain and boring or doodle background. I'm afraid that I didn't manage to solve this completely, I still struggle with picture composition and finish, but you're right that I shouldn't delay it any further.
I also was looking for more efficient way to draw some things. I have to struggle with lack of nice photoshop brushes which speed up and simplify creating some things.

It's painful to see the problems you describe. You'll gain skill, confidence, vision and resources in the future, but it doesn't mean that you must wait until until then. Why reinforce said blockade? Finish the drawing, let people compliment and comment on it while you possibly work on a different or more detailed version. We'll help you carry on producing great stuff and evolve as an artist. That's just my 1-AM suggestion. I wish you all the best.

Thank you. More than with art I just have to struggle with myself. My failures in life impinge on my energy and will to draw. I don't like unfinished works, because they tells me that I'm unable or failed to make something yet.
