During my final project at uni this year, we had to make a prop for TV, Stage or film. The subject was a character or object from a set of three books, and a chosen production style to work with. I chose the character Saracen from a book called Twilight Robbery, and my production style was Steampunk. I also went with the stage production, so that I could create a puppet of Saracen, for the character Mosca to hold.

He has a fully functioning beak mechanism so that he can open and close his mouth, and snap at people he doesn't like! The neck is flexible and allows a lot of movement. The body is very light, and easy to handle and hold.

Update: MY GOODNESS A DD? THANK YOU SO MUCH! THIS IS CRAZY BUT IT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME! THANK YOOOOU!

question, is the beak movable? because the handle in her head makes it look like it is.

Yes, you can open and close the beak with the mechanism in the hand, and the stick that goes under his chin moves the head :3

Image 5 shows the neck closer up.

It is made by cutting thick circles of plastazote and sanding them down into decreasing sized circles, and then in each circle I cut two holes and pushed through some cotton rope. Between each circles, on the rope I stuck beads to keep the foam parts sliding together. Then I painted everything to hide all the inexpensive materials! haha
