Hi dear Marilyn!!
Sorry I'm kind of late in responding to this poll question, but I want to comment on it!!
First of all ... I would like to ask you this very same question ... do YOU think that your photography has improved and furthermore, why??  One of the most important elements of taking pictures is if the person taking them is happy or satisfied with the results!!  If so ... you obviously have been looking at what you are photographing now and comparing it to what you have taken before and are aware of the differences!!  Typically Marilyn, the more someone does something especially if they are genuinely interested in it, they will get better! And if they aren't getting better in their own opinion, then it's time to either ask for help, or start getting books or seeking formal training!!
But I will tell you this ... I know about some of the differences that have taken place not that long ago to help with your more recent results and it was truly a huge step in the right direction!!  Overall exposure has been much better, fewer images with "red eye" where applicable, and the focus has been much better!!  But all of this is the technical side of the medium as there is so much more ... which is "do you like the images you have been taking?  Do you look at the pictures and ask yourself questions about them in terms of if they look "right" to you?  People need to be pleased with their images after looking at them in order for others to appreciate or "see" the same thing(s) that you saw during the capture!!
Anyway ... I don't know if this helps much at all, but this is just my opinion about your proposed question in this poll and I can only tell you that I will support, encourage, and help you any way that I can, okay?
Many :tighthug:s upon you and just keep on photographing Marilyn as your work continues to improve!! :camera:

Lee, thank you ever so much...and to answer your question..i think i have improved so much, i think its because i have a way better camera and i try my best to take good pictures that people would like!! i'm still trying to improve on macro pictures but i think that i'm coming along great with that...on the camera it says super macro..how far away from an object do i need to be??? anyway, thanks again, your opinions mean so much to me!! hugs and love to you both!!

Hi dear Marilyn!!
You are most certainly welcome and I'm glad that you furnished me with an answer to my question to you about this because I agree with you completely on everything you said and why!!  Always remember though ... try to take pictures that YOU will like as you have to please yourself first and then let others like accordingly!!  Unless others are paying you to dictate what kind of pictures they are wanting ... satisfy yourself first and the rest will all fall into place!!
"Yes" ... there are two different macro settings on this camera and I'm not sure of the exact minimum focusing distances are for which settings!!  However somewhere in that book that was sent to you, you should be able to see this information!!  The distances shown will be to tell you the closest you may be to the subject for proper focusing!!
Again you are truly welcome Marilyn and "yes" ... your photography is improving all of the time (and not totally because of the camera), but rather by your awareness of how you are taking your pictures!!  I'm very proud of how you are doing with this!! :w00t:
Take care and many :iconbackhug:s and much  to you as well!!
  ~Lee

P.S.  If you cannot find this information about the macro settings ... please let me know, okay? :please: :D

Hi Marilyn!!
You are again very welcome and this is good that you think this way ... you know, with a cognitive approach!!  When a person takes a picture of anything, it usually is a result of something that you see of interest to freeze in time!! Whether it be a special occasion, the way a person looks or presents themselves, or perhaps the way a flower might be leaning against something that you find worth capturing ... the result is a photograph and trying to let others see what YOU saw at that moment of time!! It's like an extension of what you find appealing or interesting about something and sharing it with others!!  You will be amazed though that the better you can display what you are seeing at the time of capture, the more likely others will want to see that as well as it becomes part of your very own "personality"!! :D  Anyway ... loving what you are doing is the most important thing and never lose that as it becomes and maintains the driving force of your photography!!
And "yes" ... if you encounter any problems with anything dealing with that camera, never hesitate to ask me or someone that you trust with this subject, okay?
Take care and many :iconbackhug:s upon you always!!
  Lee  :D

aww what a silly question hun of course you've improved...more you do it the better you get...plus helps to be in the right place at the right time ;) Find i improve more by trying techniques i've read in books and magazines...but also if i come across something i take LOADS of pics of the same thing from different angles and heights, different exposures etc then i sort of learn from experience then what worked that time and what didn't. So glad i got a decent camera on my phone now...always got a camera to hand :P
