How's the rp out there? Healthy?

Also, I suppose I should ask what faction you rp with most. I've heard a lot of great things about Silver Hand :o

I've hopped the border a few times, played alliance, got fed up with alliance mentalities, went horde.. rp was harder to find horde side, very closed, private, and if you weren't already in, it was hard to get in. So went back to alliance.. back and forth. Eventually rp was all but dead, so I went searching for old friends.. found them on another server, so rolled a toon to rp there.. and it became my main. Just did the same thing, when friends moved to another server, and invited me to come along.
I'm alliance right now, and an active member of Ordo Tenebrae (a Shadow based guild). We're small, but finally being taken seriously by the big name Light rp guilds alliance side.
Ayende, Night Elf rogue.

Ah yeah, I know the feeling of hopping servers and looking for rp horde side. I'm a hordie and I have a bit of trouble locating it as well, and I'm on the biggest RP server in wow. XD

I'm glad to hear that you're part of (what sounds to be) an awesome guild! I can imagine that a shadow guild might get some grief from the big name light guilds- but the mere fact that they are paying attention to you guys says a LOT!

Ahhh, Night elves! <3 I love that name, it's sooo Keldorei. <3 /flex

From what I understand, the Light guild has been around for a very long time. They have, ICly claimed the Cathedral in Stormwind, and defend it, etc. In general, they are viewed as something similar to the Scarlets, zealots, but they have a firm hold in Stormwind, with rpers stepping lightly around them for fear of being called heretic. Its awesome! They hold their guild meetings out in the open, in public, but, because of griefing, its view only. They will not respond to ANYONE during that time. Even horde come and try to grief them. >.< I purchased a train wrecker just for those meetings lol.
Up until recently, they didn't really have anyone that they considered a real threat.. Now my guild is :D
kinda funny too, I'm so well known as a spy that people automatically assume that, if I'm in the area, I'm spying on them lmao. Yay rogue!

Sooo much! XD Kidnappings, executions, assassination attempts, greed, power, lust, betrayal.

There. Is. No. Limit. To what I can play and do in this world.

So...a week and a half ago I was quite ill and downloaded the free version of WOW so that I had something to do other than read...

OF COURSE IM LIKE....nearing addiction.
The only thing that is stopping me from being addicted to it and paying (I have to pay or make a new character, seeing I my lovely Blood Elf reached 20...LOL I KNOW I MADE BLOOD ELF. Actually I made tauren first but got few up. ANYWAYS), is how terribly annoying other players are.
For example, I'll say thank you if someone helped me kill something, and they are just like "Yeh now u help me. r u a girl? Skype plz?"
Its like NOOOOOOO, I don't want to Skype with you...ALL I WANT IS TO RP MY CHARACTER.
Sigh.
So I suppose what I'm asking is where in the WORLD do you find lovely people to rp with like the ones you do. Kidnappings, executions, assassination attempts....I am SO jealous.

May I ask what sorta character do you use? I love hearing history ;)

I rp on Moon Guard and Wyrmrest Accord. Both servers are renowned for being the biggest RP hubs in the game. The thing with wow is that there are a loooot of players that are like that. And when you first get into the game that can be really frustrating and stupid. But you'll find little to no RP out questing anyway. Most of the rp is centered in, or just outside, of cities. Silvermoon is the most popular rp hub for both Moon Guard and Wyrmrest Accord servers (horde side). Alliance has Stormwind. You'll find RP elsewhere, of course, but in Silvermoon that's where it's easiest.

I play all kinds of races, but my main RP character is a blood elf warlock. It took me a while to understand the mechanics of rp in wow and even longer to actually work up the nerve to approach people and start an rp (because this is more likely to get you rp than anything else). People do approach you, but you're more likely to get -moar- rp by being proactive.

You should get your feet wet first by getting a lay of the land. Roll a new blood elf character on Moon Guard, level her up some if you'd like, and then take her to Silvermoon. Explore the city. Murder Row is a hotbed of activity, as are both Silvermoon City inns (most of the time). Check it out and get a feel for what's going on. I can guarantee you you'll see rp. From there, finding people to rp with gets a little easier. About 95% of the rpers are very decent writers and very creative.

If you decide to purchase a subscription, let me know and I'll help you out! They have a "recruit a friend" program that will get you boosted benefits for leveling (like more xp for quests) and things like that. <3

Wow...Blue...I cannot thank you enough for all the help you have given me!!

Glad to see we share a common race ;)

That truly sounds amazing though...I wonder if i am not on a "rp" server, seeing as I can't see different names for said server (like Moon Guard, or Wyrmrest). I'll play around, click on a few things, and if i can figure it out I would love to just watch the rp process!
Or perhaps I should just visit Silvermoon on my server until I get things straightened out ;)

Is the rping different from say, the type of rping that goes on over DA via notes? Granted, everyone has a different style, but i suppose I am used to big long paragraphs and such :giggle:
I'm all excited now, because from what you have said, it sounds truly incredible!!!

I actually just purchased a subscription, seeing as I capped my little belf! I don't know if its because level 20 gives the Alliance honor points, but I can't seem to get on without being killed over and over again by big jerks who knock me out without me even seeing them! :giggle:
Was I supposed to let you know before I purchased it? Alas I checked DA moments after :( Hopefully the "recruit a friend" works after I have subscribed...either way, that is so so so kind of you to offer! Truly, I feel honored to know people like you, Blue!

I never did either, but ever sine I got back into it, I gave it a try. Now questing and leveling and dungeons just dont do it for me without some RP filler. The players in wow are just phenomenally literate and beyond creative.
