Nintendo Wii by BLUEamnesiac Nintendo Wii by BLUEamnesiac
Wii, the beginning of boring console designs.  PS4 and XBOX One are no better. :/

Don't forget to do the vertical version on the stand!

I personally enjoy the design of the Wii, it was a bit basic but functional. PS4 and XBOX ONE designs just look lazy.

They definitely are.  Black boxes with vents makes me sleepier than warm milk.

Yeah, but they tried to make it look cool with that slanted stand. You know, the one they discontinued starting in 2011 that also removed Gamecube support.

I liked the way the disc slot lit up, but am not a fan of vertically standing consoles.
The removal of GC support was almost as annoying as Sony's removal of Other OS.  And from what I've been told, those Wii systems are only lacking the ports, everything on the motherboard is unchanged.

I never really did try to turn my PS3 into a super computer. :XD:

Yeah no, I'd imagine it's the exact same hardware sans Gamecube ports and with firmware that denies the use of Gamecube discs. Although, since that was around the time that Wii was pretty much starting to fall out of popularity, it wasn't the biggest of deals in my opinion. What I think is absolutely stupid is them relaunching an already dead console with similar hardware with absolutely no networking capabilities.

Both the Wii and Wii-U are boring in physical design. But, with that said, I have to agree with the egregious Yahtzee; despite having a boring design, the Wii-U is the only console this generation that still resembles a console and not a watered down gaming PC.

True.  And it's the only one that has a somewhat customized architecture, albeit PowerPC related.  It's almost as if Sony and Microsoft gave up and decided to go down the watered down PC path.

Unfortunately for Nintendo, that strategy isn't exactly working out for them.

I completely agree, it's unique. But third-party developers don't like that seeing as most of their games start off on development for the PC.
