An unhappy acquaintance... (Lore)

so, if anyone remembers apple, he and axel aren't much to be friends

some of my old art probably shows them seeming quite tranquil with each other! but their lore has gotten more in depth so they aren't exactly happy to see each other

now I know it seems a bit out of character for axel to be growling at apple and even putting on a defensive face and stance, but if you notice, he's protecting Layla! which axel would of course naturally go into dad mode and protect her from any potential threat! and well, as much as axel wouldn't ever do anything to apple even with their past, he'd make sure to keep him away from Layla!

now basically, apple and axel are ex's. apple was manipulative, mentally abusive, exc, and over all toxic towards axel and ghosted him, thus ending their relationship. but now that axel has moved on, having a wife and even a daughter, apple still finds himself to still be in love with axel, but he absolutely despises Layla and amber... now eventually in the lore, apple does apologize and vow to leave axel alone, but he's still not a great guy and is seen as a more "enemy" like figure throughout my OCS!

so in this, axel is obviously protecting Layla as apple comes upon axel and axel isn't exactly very happy (but axel is much too kind natured to hurt apple anyway, he just will only protect layla)

and if you're also curious, apple is part of the reason axel has his scars
