A Mother's Dispair (Sketch) [CW!]

Been a bit since I've drawn Amber, and this time, I decided to illustrate some lore I don't think I've really touched on about her...

For no one who knows, Amber had a litter of 5 kits when she was pregnant and had Layla. Unfortunately, Layla was the only kit of the litter to survive when born, as her other babies were stillborn.

There wasn't any known cause to figure out why this happened and why only one of the kits was to live, but it certainly did impact Amber...and Axel too.

Amber still dwells on this and still doesn't understand the true cause behind it all and wishes she did have all of her babies. Despite the loss, both her and Axel still love and cherish Layla greatly.

Besides my sketchbook being so small and the drawing not totally fitting on the page, I am pretty happy with this as it's been a hot minute since I've really drawn Amber.

Also, I am aware Layla looks a bit bigger than the rest of the kits. This wasn't really intentional, and I was really just trying to have her stand out. But, other than that, I eventually hope to draw more on Amber since I have barely drawn much stuff on her besides her interference with Apple.
