Painting Practice: Connor

So, now that I have a functioning computer again (had to replace the power supply myself as the shop kept claiming they couldn't find anything wrong with it!), I'm trying to learn digital painting. As opposed to digital drawing, which I'm a lot more familiar with. Connor got to be the test subject.

I'd appreciate any suggestions or helpful criticism so I can get better at this, I'm still rather vague on the whole technique >_>

Worked loosely from photo reference primarily for lighting purposes; I was not trying to get a likeness of the model. Model is Jacey Elthalion, don't know who the photographer was.
