Letters to the Dead: Dream Dive Four

I Never Felt

I

I Never Felt

I Never Felt Traveling museum can't settle dust Caters to gawking, unrealising eye Genuflects to hollow, indifferent ear That I never felt Hushed whispers left at dusk Staring eyes no longer scrutinising glass Dim lights and walls of stone A cold I never felt Reading, searching and finding out The walls, how they speak The floor, how it rumbles beneath The indifference I never felt Standoffish glances go unnoticed A tour guide's twinkling grin and five-o'clock shadow Twittering crowds left behind A gossiping superficial I never felt Mister Five-o'clock Shadow Describe in detail the glass in question Turn right, not left and lean forward.

I Never Heard

I

I Never Heard

I Never Heard Nearly a century gone Time wears the light away Cold stare, icy laugh But I never heard Years pass in endless cadence No drums beat and no horns sound Where the light fears to go And I never heard Silence doesn't break down here Silence doesn't end It keeps the secrets buried And I want to hear History turned to legend in a second Legend forgotten for a time Rediscovered, lights shine down But I can't hear Listening carefully, holding my breath Opening a book in a silent library Reading what precious fingers tell I finally hear it Speaking so low and soft Strain to hear the whispers the dark releases Recessed in the shadow

I Never Saw

I

I Never Saw

Never Saw I never knew. I never saw A night frozen in time Held in a cold Mistress' arms I never knew. I never saw I never knew. I never saw The cold face of blue Staring down the human race I never knew. I never saw I never knew. I never saw A story play out its tragedy Shakespearean virtue and vice I never knew. I never saw I never knew. I never saw Fingers pointed, names marred Heroes forgotten in the silence I never knew. I never saw I never knew. I never saw But now I know and now I see So I'll tell the Shakespearean tragedy And I won't say it That I never knew. I never saw

He wasn't the kind of man many wanted to be associated with. For all that he was a musical genius, this man never seemed to smile. His face was a hardened mask of sharp lines, a stern-set mouth and eyes that seemed made of ice. They called him cold, unfeeling. They said he pushed his musicians to their limits without remorse. Of all the things said about this man, it was never to his face and it boiled down to one pure, distilled fact: This man was not happy unless his musicians were playing for him. He wasn't happy unless they played. Tonight, the concert hall was filled to capacity. Tonight, a concert was to play and it was expected of th

I have done many things in my life, but one dream stands out: I work to become the musician I dream of being. I am in the process of starting a melodic power metal group featuring seven people: Myself and six others...
Two guitarists.
Two bassists.
And two drummers.

My heroes of Helloween re-ignited this dream, a dream I had thought long since dead. Helloween has had a powerful impact upon me. The story behind that is somewhat long and crazy...

I am a proud part of "CLAIM-A-PERSON" and I am honoured to have "Claimed" the great INGO SCHWICHTENBERG.

I think the writing bug has finally bitten. Possible sequel to "Letters to the Dead"? Possibly. Let's see what happens.
Twenty years and it still feels like just now. Good night, Pen.

25 Years Later

25 Years Later

25 years ago, the world lost someone. 25 years later, an archive will grow with the blessing of those who were closest to him. I think this year's Silent Supper will be a poignant one. It ought to be. I've been quiet but 2020 has been weird and it's only March. Besides, I think it's fitting to start 2020 in DA with this. And I'm half tempted to read through "Letters to the Dead" again. Because writing creates worlds reality can't permit. And in some ways, reality can go f*ck itself. I want time travel in reality, damn it.
