Some widgets have options that are only available when you get Core Membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
We artists are a fickle bunch. I know for myself, I do not care for attention, and in crowds I am uncomfortable, and praise is something that I both crave and am embarrassed by. I also know I'm not alone in feeling this way.
DeviantArt, to me, has always represented a community. A collective of like-minded people, who enjoy creating and work to support one another. Despite the evidence to suggest my view is incorrect, I still think this way. I think I am going to embark on a quest to help hold up my fellow artists. (At least for a while. lol)
I'm going to give unsolicited comments to people I don't know, and try to support some of my peers more thoroughly. We all love to hear what others think of our work. After all, that's why we put it out there, isn't it? If we didn't desire some feedback, we would keep everything in a sketchbook and never leave our homes.
I'm sure nobody will read this, as full sentences and communication through the written language, is dead, but if someone out there IS listening, I am challenging you. I challenge you to write THREE unsolicited comments to strangers, on their artwork. Good, bad, whatever. Go to the main page (I like to use the "popular 24 hours" tab,) and find three images you like. Let's support some of our fellows. Maybe we'll even make some new friends, out of the bargain.
