Bio:
Before the Seafarers, Brooke Feldstein was a semi-famous singer for Midnight City’s many nightclubs, an icon for the capitol’s deplorable and self-serving upper echelons. How she went from there to the navigator for a ship full of maniacs and pirates—and especially the part about becoming a Paradigm—is an ugly story she’d rather not remember, but she quickly found her talents—old and new—welcomed for clear reasons. Sultry, seductive, and sinfully sexy, Brooke is every bit the femme fatale described by lovestruck villains and would-be raiders; a wily, charismatic, intelligent and dangerous woman who could turn an entire crew against each other and secure a ship’s worth of loot, with nothing but some well-chosen words, sensual temptation and her talent for wrapping people around her finger. And if all else fails, there’s always dragging the whole damn ship down to a watery grave.

Many would say she’s a manipulator; a cruel temptress who’s killed more than the rest of the Seafarers combined. Her enemies would be right. Those close to her see another person entirely; at heart, Brooke has been walking alone for years and is simply trying to find a place to belong. Her time among the elite has left her unsure, vain, grumpy, even narcissistic in private conversation; the end result of a life separated from healthy human relationships. Her time on the seas has given her ample chance to figure things out. No matter how much her crewmates get on her last nerve, she can’t ignore or deny the fact it’s thanks to them she has a second shot, a chance to forge a new life free of her demons. In that, Brooke is truly grateful, and it’s not an opportunity she plans to waste.

Perhaps the greatest weapon Kraken’s Widow has at her disposal is her seductive prowess. Already an incredibly attractive and confident woman, she is also able to sway her targets into falling irresistibly in love with her via pheromones, if her natural charms aren’t enough; once she has her prey vulnerable, she drags them underwater. She is able to induce paralysis in her opponents with a kiss thanks to a chemical in her teeth, an ability she uses liberally in dealing with opponents.

She is a hybrid between cephalopod and human with all the abilities this implies, up to and including the proportional strength of an octopus. She has enough physical strength to drag a destroyer-class ship underwater, and tear smaller vessels to pieces. She is capable of quickly adapting to various undersea environments of varying temperatures, toxicity and other factors, and is able to quickly change the pigment of her skin to effortlessly hide herself in plain sight. Her vision has been greatly enhanced as well, allowing her to see in pitch-black environments with perfect clarity. As a last-ditch effort in a fight, she can spit a blast of boiling ink to cover her escape.

Kraken’s Widow has an extraordinary healing factor that allows her to grow lost limbs at an astonishing speed; she is also capable of manipulating the elasticity of her own body right down to her muscles and bones, allowing her a degree of flexibility other Seafarers do not have, and allowing her to fit into openings they cannot. This ability also gives Kraken’s Widow an extra layer of protection from crushing water pressures.
