Statist And Anarchist: Meet The Characters

By
I’ve decided to better define my characters and give them slight re-designs. I’ve decided to make them all roommates who live in San Francisco. Seemed to be the ideal location for them. Red Statist could drive down to the Mexico border on the weekends to patrol it with his militia buddies. Anarchist can commute to Silicon Valley where he works for a tech company. And Blue Statist and Green can be your run-of-the-mill liberals that make up most of the city’s population.

Their new appearances will hopefully make them a bit more stereotypical than they were before. The only exception is Blue Statist. I just couldn’t think of a proper stereotype for him. Republicans are rednecks. Libertarians are hipsters. Liberals are hippies. But your run-of-the-mill Democrats? Sorry. Couldn’t think of anything for them.

Oh God, this is crazy!  I'm a Libertarian going for a STEM degree who loves political and religious-spiritual debates.  I'm a geek who did Forensics in high school.
I don't shell out my money for Starbucks' coffee but I'll gladly exploit their bandwidth with my laptop.  And I watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic!

....... I don't know how to feel about my life... : /

And where the labourers who feed them all?
Oh, wait, 99% of them are Bernie supporters.
DUH.

An entire generation of people with degree in gender studies and complaining they don't get any jobs? and hope that over taxation will get them jobs?
Cochegara's avatar
Well, they need more assembly lines, since it requires, like, zero skill and education.

These guys are too lazy to work anyway.

I have a hard time imagining Red Statist being a vet. Military personal have to have at least some intelligence and restraint but he's just a loud and impulsive nutjob. I also highly doubt they'd give him an honorable discharge and medal for a self inflicted injury.

Blue is a little more tragic then I figured he'd be. He's young and can't find a job because of the job market, leading him to lose the only job he was able to get. He's not even a welfare leech. He's actually job hunting. His only source of comfort is the thought that he's going to change the world by voting and supporting his political party. Change the party affiliation and I can kind of relate to the frustration he must be feeling and the lack of direction he has in his life.

(My brother is rooting for Rubio and my dad wants Cruz. I'm waiting. Last time I put my support behind a candidate early, I was severally let down when I found out what kind of person he actually was)

Green reminds me of my sisters ex-boyfriend.

Red statist should be a draft dodger! I'm most in line with the green party guy despite being a democrat, but yellow is second best. BTW, I dislike Obama. He's bullying Pollard!

"I have a hard time imagining Red Statist being a vet. Military personal have to have at least some intelligence and restraint but he's just a loud and impulsive nutjob"

This is about the person Red Statist is today, not necessarily the person he might have been back when he was in Desert Storm or whatever, which would have been no less than 25 years ago and a lot can happen to change a person in 20+ years.

Additionally I think I should also mention that you would be surprised how much people can change or how severely mentally fucked up people can become over very little time especially after being in a war or even merely being in the service, and I can attest to this as a person who has family members who have worked the Department of Veteran's Affairs. Though I'll let you in on a dirty little secret, :shh: some actually start out that way before they even get in, the vetting process for mental competence in the military throughout most of U.S. history has never been anywhere near as serious as most people think.

"I also highly doubt they'd give him an honorable discharge and medal for a self inflicted injury."

Ever heard of John Kerry?

"(My brother is rooting for Rubio and my dad wants Cruz. I'm waiting. Last time I put my support behind a candidate early, I was severally let down when I found out what kind of person he actually was)"

I was seriously rooting for Rand Paul as I considered him to be the ONLY remotely sane and rational thinking choice among the entirety of this election cycle's current GOP field, but since he recently dropped out :jawdrop: :wtf: which I personally think he did waaaaaay too soon :doublefacepalm: :disbelief:, I'm now finding myself deliberately backing Bernie Sanders now just out of spite , as HUUUUGE middle finger to the GOP and the sad sack of fertilizer that I believe the remainder of the current GOP candidates to be =P :XD:Emotihal Fingers

Though if I absolutely HAD to choose between what is left among the GOP field, I would be inclined to VERY RELUCTANTLY go with ..Ted Cruz :ashamed::disgusted: Stupid Me!  ..for as corrupted and religion pandering as he has become, he still appears (at least to me) to be the overall the least crooked of the remaining bunch.. I know! I know! Ted Cruz is somewhat mentally deranged and I probably should be citing Rubio for the position instead as Rubio appears to many people to be the most overall reasonable (at least in the debates anyway:sarcasticclap:) at the moment and supposedly has the best chance of actually winning, but I simply can't bring myself to support him because I could tell from years ago that Rubio was already being polished up and groomed by the political elite to become just another interventionist corporate owned moderate neocon puppet sellout just like Romney and Bush, and now all my concerns about Rubio have manifested themselves into fruition and then some as his policies have only gotten considerably worse since then.

Red's a gun toting fat racist, yellow's a smug fedora-clad douchebag, green's a hippie stoner with no idea what's anything and blue... Is the most normal of the bunch.

Why didn't you make blue stand out? You made everyone EXCEPT him a charicature.
Takisan111's avatar
Strangely, Blue seems the most relatable. He's young and inexperienced and life clearly hasn't gone how he'd hoped. He got fired from the only job he could get so the company can save money and, from a certain perspective, can look like an act of greed. He's job hunting but the economy is poor and no one is really hiring. The only thing he has going for him is his desire to change the system by voting for and supporting the side promising to deal with the "corrupt system" that he believes is keeping him unemployed. He's very much a misguided wannabe champion of the people. Trying to make the world better without any real idea what made it so broken in the first place. It's kind of sad actually.

I suspect one would have to be a democrat politician to see the stereotype, seeing as democrat pols look down on Everyone. They likely see those who vote for them as THE most ignorant of the lot.
BlameThe1st's avatar
I couldn't find a stereotype for him.
Graeystone's avatar
You made Blue a 'Gary Stu'. . .
BlameThe1st's avatar
"Gary Stu" presumes that he's a perfect character, which he evidently isn't by a long shot.
Graeystone's avatar
Sorry, I meant Anarchist.
A 45-year-old redneck veteran is living with an 18-year-old hippie, a 26-year-old slacker, and a 28-year-old brony hipster?  Someone should probably keep a close eye on Red Statist.  I fear his intentions.
Kajm's avatar
The idea that greens don't know a lot? Yeah, from my arguments with such, that's NOT a stereotype :P

Please please please you're joking about gay agriculture.

'Queering' is the funniest social justice buzzword in recent times. It sounds so flamboyant. 'Let's queer this agriculture up!' exclaimed the man in the sequined suit, cheekily slapping the farmhand's rump.
It was coined the Ultimate Warrior, oddly enough.

"Queering doesn't make the world go 'round."

That's an actual, direct, unironic quote from Warrior as he was trying to defend his assertion that (another real, direct quote) "the homosexual is not more legitimate than the heterosexual" during a lecture he gave to a group of college conservatives.  Strange man, Warrior.
