How to make Soup Muffins by BlackMagdalena How to make Soup Muffins by BlackMagdalena
I have been making these for a few years with different kinds of soups. A few people told me recently I should write down my recipe. I usually just wing it whenever I make these so I wrote down my basic process.

Is there a way to make them in a microwave, for us poor, oven-less bastards?

The dough is the equivalent of biscuit and pancake batter, so I'm not sure if you could make it in the microwave, but you might be able to manage it on the stove or other heat source. If I were you, I would line a frying pan with with biscuit dough, partially cook it so it's kind of stiff. Then fill it like a pie with condensed soup mix with maybe some veggies or meat mixed in. Then pour some pancake mix over the top and cover it while cooking at low heat. I recently built a small fire pit out of cinder blocks and I'm curious to experiment with it, so I'll try this out and let you know how it goes. Please note I am not very good at cooking in general, but at worst it'll be super messy but still delicious.

Love this. :) The words you used made me think of the metal cookies tut, to which I can't seem to find a link. I'll have to try these sometime - they look delicious! And your octopus art is adorable. ^_^

Well, I originally saw it as a gif on failblog or something, but I just googled it and found it as a comic strip: [link] I saw some links to Youtube too, but I didn't watch any of them. Not quite as awesome as yummy-looking soup-filled muffins but funny.

I've seen that comic as well somewhere. I love it. I kind of cook like that except I sadly don't have high frequency eye lasers capable of baking cookies instantly.

These are DELICIOUS, and the buttermilk biscuit recipe and half a recipe of buttermilk pancake batter from The Joy of Cooking are just the right amount for one batch, which is convenient! On my mom's suggestion, I added some peas and carrots to the cream of mushroom soup, to make more of a pot pie muffin, and I might try them with sweet pie fillings sometime because why not.

That sounds amazing. Sometimes I top mine with bacon, but carrots and peas are a good way to make them healthier. I love Julia Child. The spark that got me interested in cooking was watching the movie Julie and Julia.
