Lacilla watching for storms by BlackHawk45LC Lacilla watching for storms by BlackHawk45LC
Landscape practice. Debating on using photo textures, I am not their biggest fan typically.

I really like how you drew the vegetation, the river and the stones. The colours and textures are very interesting. I think that the mountains could be improved a bit even though there is nothing really disturbing with them. I am just a bit less convinced by the character. I don't know exactly why it seems weird in the landscape. Maybe because it is too vague, or because of the colours.... I am sorry I cannot really find good reasons to explain myself but I cannot erase this feeling that something is wrong with her. :s
Nevertheless the overall piece is very interesting and you are, without a doubt, improving your skills in drawing landscape. :)

No worries haha. :) Yes it may be one of the causes! I'm wondering also if she shouldn't be more "impregnated" by the atmosphere thanks to coloured lights on her. I don't know if my explanation is understandable. :s

Yeah I think there is quite a bit wrong with the piece. I think Lacilla look weird mainly because it looks like she isn't standing on flat ground. Looks like she is standing uphill if that makes sense.

Oooo beautiful!
Something very different from what I have seen from you :D
The stormy atmosphere is on point :)
I love how there is green thick air hugging it all, like you see happening often when storm is coming.
Maybe some slight orange light could be happening as well.
As that's also something I often see with storm, creating these magnifecent cloudy skies with the contrast of the green.
The trees foilage stands out a bit to me, it is such a different touch then all your other strokes have.
The lighter parts seem a bit flat because the fine structure and the mass of the same tone.

Thanks for the insight. Landscapes certainly aren't my strong suit, but I like to give it a shot from time to time. I sort of get lost between realism, and stylization and well what you pointed out tends to happen. Again thanks so much!
