Havent thrown up one of these in a while.

This is end of Skyrim.

No gate, ocean or impassable terrain.

Just a text message and invisible barrier.

You cannot go that way.

TOO BAD! Seriously, though, I wish someone would make a super mod that would allow you to trek across the whole of Tamriel.

Yup, remake arena with skyrim graphics and detail.

The story and gameplay of ARENA doesn't really hold up that well by modern standards.  It may have been "BIG", geography wise, but it would not be worth the effort.  That game world, as-is, but with prettier graphics, just would not be very cool.  It was FLAT.  Completely FLAT.  Towns were identical in architecture on the most part.

Better to do the same thing, but skip the "ARENA" part, and just make up a new story and updated interpretation of the landscape.  Everything would have to be re-mapped, re-landscaped and re-written anyway.  Might as well make it GOOD.

It's Called 'Elder Scrolls Online'. www.elderscrollsonline.com/en/…

... I've never played an MMO, but I think this actually looks pretty cool.

In Skyrim. Not TESO, which seems to be turning out to be a disaster.

No, I know the screenshot is from Skyrim.  I was replying to the comment "What if you could go EVERYWHERE", and I was saying there is a game where you can, and it's called "The Elderscolls Online".

What is a "Disaster" about TESO?

I'm not sure, but I think it was only the initial release, and it might also be loaded with bugs.

Name a PC game released in the past 10 years that was NOT loaded with Bugs in the BETA and even months after release.

Even console games are not immune any more.  Just look at GTA5.

TESO is a subscription based MMORPG.  The game, by nature of design, is intended to change over time.  That is why they need to ask for a subscription fee rather that be F.T.P., because they will be working on it and changing it constantly.

Naturally, the game as-is at launch will almost surely be a significantly inferior game to what it will eventually evolve in to over time, 'IF' enough players give it a chance to keep it going for more than a year.  At it's base core, I think it is full of great potential, and I am enthusiastic about giving it a try (once I have a powerful enough PC to run it, that is).  Tamriel and the Greater ES universe is just so cool, and really deserves a game of this scope and ambition.  I'm certainly not calling it a flop just yet.  Everything I've seen looks pretty cool to me ... at least potentially.
