General

- How old to they get?
Average of 300 years.
Juvenile:  1- 5 years (This is where theyre finding their feet, learning and doing most of their growing!)
Young adult/ Teenager: 5-20 years (Basically, these guys are reckless and lazy - sometimes cocky with tryng to learn transformations!)
Adult: 20 and onwards (  But an Akriri is considered a proper 'adult' when they master their first transformation - usually at about 50 years old! )

- Do they have genders?
The BirdFolk don't have genders, as they don't reproduce sexually. They do have borrowed concepts of masculinity and femininity from other cultures!

- How long does it take for them to mature?
It takes a newborn folk approximately 5 years to reach breeding age.

- How do they reproduce?
They do lay eggs! A different kind of egg - rather than being born in a biological sense, the parents(usually 2 or more) donate a part of their own "soul" to create an egg.

- Can they write?
Only a select few Folk can write, as they adopted it from other cultures. They themselves don't have a written language.

- How intelligent are they?
They are as intelligent as humans, although they have very basic concepts of math and written language.

- Do they have their own language?
Yes!I ts an ancient one, so they also mix in more complex, new words from other languages

- Do they make bird noises?
Alongside talking, they do make bird noises! Typically chirps, "beeps" and honks.

- Typical body language?
Grooming and knocking heads gently are pretty much the "i love you/respect you" in birdfolk! A typicaly greeting is bowing their heads.

- What are their diets?
Their general diet is omnivorous - fish, seed, fruit, veggie and even red meats!

- Do they have pets?
If they were to keep pets, it would small animals, such as reptiles or insects.

- Can they fly?
They can only fly very short distances . To fly properly, they need to have a transformation.

- What are corrupted folks?
Corrupted folk have warped minds, and they transform wildly without consideration for their 'souls'. Theyre typically very aggressive, and will hold their transformations until it kills them. This is pretty extreme though!

Magic & Transformations

- Can they use their magic in other ways besides transformation?
They can't really use any magic, apart from transformation - if they did, (which it IS technically possible) they would lose a chunk, or all of their magic. Since a BirdFolk's magic is it's soul and body, the Folk would cease to exist afterwards (Aka.Corruption)

- How long can they stay in their transformations?
It depends on the size of their transformation! A huge form could only be held for about fifteen minutes, but a smaller form could last over an hour!

- How many transformations can they have
The average Folk has about three! It does take time for a Folk to learn a new form! An experienced elder could have up to several forms!

- What does their transformation look like?
When transformed they always use their own natural colours. It will usually include some of the folks own personal features. More talented folk can perform a ''cleaner'' mimic.

- What can they transform in to?
Every earth animal, mythical creatures and other creatures from Kel Del (NOT humans, since they dont exist in Kel-Del)

- Are the adult forms of birdfolk a transformation they had to master? Or is it a more natural thing?
The 'adult forms' are much easier to master, and one of the first forms an Akriri learns! Theyre very instinctual, and can often change with the Akriri's imagination.

Appearance

- Are their wings actually wings or a cloak?
In a way! With their transformation magic, they can easily manipulate their appearance. If a folk is wearing a cloak or scarf, they may have either made it, or manifested it from their own bodies!

- How tall are they?
1-2 feet tall! They can transform in to any size, but this requires magic!

Community

- Do they sometimes befriend other species, or do they prefer to just bond with birdfolks?
They prefer to bond with other BirdFolk, being secretive. They do get curious though, transforming into Cether or Jahkl in order to try (steal)  foods or buy (steal) trinkets.
They also have a very strong sense of community. If you see one BirdFolk, you bet that there's at least ten of them somewhere near!

- What do their towns look like?
It depends on their habitat, but will typically look like a cluster - almost a hive - of nests.

- What  ''professions'' do they have?
The town will include folk with "professions", like gatherers, trinket makers, and elders (etc etc). Basically, do what you can to earn your keep! They can also barter goods.

- Do they have a lawsystem?
They don't have one particular law system - it varies throughout communities. Some are much more civilized, other are more tribal!

- What climate do they live in?
They live in a variety of climates - you can usually judge the weather by the Folk's clothing/feathers!

- What sort of currency do they use?
They use a barter system! But it's entirely possible for Akriri in a village to create their own!

Are all birdfolk able to transform? And is there any limit to how many transformations we can have? And last thing what are we able to transform as? Ive seen 'noodle' dragons but thats about it! (Also when they transform they keep their colours/patters correct?) Sorry for the long question!

Hey! Sorry for the late reply!!
All birdfolks can transform! Normally they have about 2-3 transformations. However if the transformations are quite large (dragon sized) I would say from 1-2. It also depends on how well they can transform. Look at their magic as a LP bar. The larger the transformation, the more magic it consumes. Because of that they also have difficulities staying in large transformations for a longer period of time.

They can transform to anything really! It can be animals, critters from Kel-Del or other magical creatures ;v; / And yes! They keep their color palette during their transformations <3

Does the corrupted need to have the black and redish cristals and magic ?  Or can it be black and dark purple to fit more the rest of the colors ?

The magic within has a black base colour, but it can contain tints of others! Also the lines can be any colour you wish! Just go ahead and be creative :D

HI AAA another quick question!!
What are some characteristics of corrupt birdfolk?
Of course they're rather hostile and such h in general, but are there more details on them?
Also, as far as traits/features, what differentiates a normal birb from a corrupt one??
(Some in depth info would be amazing!!)

Ah no worries haha!<3 Here are some corrupted designs! From little corrupted, to really corrupted LOL
Akriri Auction (SOLD) by Kel-Del   Akriri Auction [CLOSED] by Kel-Del   Akriri Auction [CLOSED] by Kel-Del   Corrupt Akriri Auction [CLOSED] by Kel-Del
Corrupted birdfolks usually have black scleras, and cracks in their bodies. The magic that flows out of their bodies are black, with colored ''veins''. The cracks depends on how corrupted they are. Their body is like a shell, so when using magic for other things than transforming, the shell will crack, and the magic will start to flow out. Like shown in example 2,3 and 4! Number 4 is basicly on the last stage where they don't have much time left, due to such heavy corruption. The first birdfolk is at the first stage where their body have just started to crack, but not enough for the magic to flow out yet.
The magic flowing out can be shown in different designs! So you can honestly be really creative here <3

When it comes to personality wise it all depends really. A birdfolk becomes corrupted when they use their magic for something else than transforming. Even good magic can make them become corrupted. However once a birdfolk has been corrupted, they will notice a change in behaviour. One of these changes will be loss of controll.

I hope this helped you out! <3 Also sorry for the slow reply! ;A; <33

I've got a feeeeeeew questions! Hopefully they make sense : D

1. When it comes to corrupt birdfolk, this can happen to any bird right? Like, are we free to make our birbs a corrupt birb (if it fits their storyline for us) or create our own corrupt birdfolk through MYO,, or is that a thing only official designers can create? (as in, are corrupt birdfolk only obtainable by custom from the creator of the species or an official designer)

2. on the topic of corrupt birdfolks, there's no way to undo corruption correct? (like through storyline, some special way birds can find to undo corruption of a loved one/friend)

3. when it comes to transformation, how exactly does the process go? Like they will themself to transform into a specific creature and "poof cloud" they're that creature or is it like a werewolf transformation where their limbs reshape and such to transform? Or engulfed in light and transform, much like a pokemon evolution? aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Hello!!! ;v;//
1.  It's totally fine if you want to re-design your current birdfolk to a corrupted one, or design one for your myo slot!! ;v;
2. Thats right! You can slow it down however! You can also speed it up. Depending on how much magic the birdfolk performs.
3. From what I've seen from Kel-del it seems like the first description fits best! ''poof cloud'' haha!
I hope these gave you some answerts <3

Quick question, if they transform to one of the other kel-del creatures. Do we keep the same colors of our birdfolk so it won't be confused as if I tried making my own with out permission?

So I just got a MYO Slot for one of this little buddy . I have read the small guide for creating your own Birdfolk, but then, how much limit or to what extent can we modify/add/create for our Birdfolk?
What I mean is like, I have see some Birdfolks that have horns and all that, then what things can we add and what can't we add? Sorry for the long question, but this is actually my first time getting a MYO slot and I'm quite confuse with how this work....  ^___^U

About transformations
What kind of mythical creatures are allowed? I wanted to make a noodle dragon, would that be ok?
And is there any species they can transform into that resembles humanoid?

Noodle dragons are allright! Other dragons too, or even made up designs, or other designs from the KelDel universe <3
There is none canon characters that resembles humans in any way. There are anthros in Kel Del however, but that is the closest as you get ;V;

BIRD FOLK - PART 1 by Kel-Del

When "manifest" they can still wear, for example, a bell on their clothing. They just stole it instead of making it since they don't harvest that sort of power! I hope this helps ♡

Before I thought that Birdfolk were just normal birds, but after investigating and looking at them from all angles, they're a pretty cute species. I like the development and hand work put into them and I definitely see now that they are not just normal birds. Good job to everybody who worked on this! It's so cool!

Yes! You are welcome to add up to 2-3 forms (which is the most usual!) You are also welcome to remove the form from the previous owner if you don't wish to use that one in their story ;v;/

; 0; these are the cutest thing! the head bump made me do high pitched noises~ and im finally going to get my own folk from a friend who's gifting me theirs! ♥♥ so i wanted to ask - how do they 'get' their transformation forms? ive seen people do cool forms in refs and stuff, and the info here was pretty enlightening, but like.. do they need to 'learn' it somehow? or are the folk owners just allowed to design a form (or two) for them :0

sorry if its weird! i really love these and want to inspire something fun for my upcoming baby ♥

Hello! <3 And no, you can ask whatever you feel like asking, no questions are weird! <3
You are welcome to design 2-3 forms! Just keep in mind that the younger the birdfolk is, the less experienced they are with transformations! The larger the creatre, the larger ammount of energy is needed to transform, and they wouldnt be able to keep the transformation too long (Unless they for example only have one transformation they specialize in! ;v;/)
So you are welcome to add transformations if you wish for them to have any! <3
