Student Council President

Scene: Just outside the school building, early evening. The sun has just gone down. The student council president (Kimikage Kazue) —poised, graceful, and seated in her wheelchair—is organizing some files in her lap, waiting quietly near the gates. The protagonist is walking briskly toward the subway station, lost in thought, when he catches a glimpse of her legs. Distracted, he stumbles over a crack in the sidewalk and falls hard.

She turns, surprised.

Kimikage Kazue:
"Are you okay?" (Her voice is calm but genuinely concerned, eyes sharp as ever.)

Protagonist:
"Y-Yeah! Yeah, just… wasn’t watching where I was going." (He gets up quickly, brushing himself off.)

Kimikage Kazue: (A small smile tugs at her lips as she tilts her head, observant)
"Hmm. Funny, you were looking pretty intently. Not at the ground though..."

Protagonist: (visibly flustered)
"I– I didn’t mean to—"

Kimikage Kazue: (interrupts, voice sweet but sly)
"My legs, right?"

She lets the silence linger just long enough to make him squirm. Then she leans back casually, the smile turning into a light smirk.)

Kimikage Kazue:
"You want to know why I can't walk?"

Protagonist:
"...Yeah. I mean—only if you're okay talking about it."

Kimikage Kazue: (her eyes glint with amusement)
"T Twelve. Complete. Know what that means?"

Protagonist: (nodding, more serious now)
"Yeah. Complete spinal cord injury at the T12 vertebra. No motor or sensory function below that point."

There’s a pause. She watches him closely, then slowly, knowingly raises an eyebrow.

Kimikage Kazue:
"You are into it, aren't you?"

Protagonist: (eyes widen)
"What? N–No, I—"

Kimikage Kazue: (soft chuckle)
"Relax. Most adults wouldn’t even know what T12 means. Let alone someone in high school."

She leans forward just a bit, teasing but not unkind.

Kimikage Kazue:
"Don’t worry. I’m not offended. Just curious... You see things others don’t. That can be interesting."
