The Squamoids native to Pleona live up to the continent's reputation, for their hind legs have degenerated into simple appendages for defense. Many species have colorful flags to frighten enemies, a few with hardened segments to create a clacking chatter. Some have developed whips that they weild with surprising accuracy, leaving stinging lacerations in their enemies. Also being very powerful and quick with a feisty disposition, these are the only animals able to hold their own against the infamous Pleona Serpents.
