I am disillusioned with DSLRs even tho, they gave me a whole lot of freedom...
SLR cameras revolutionized photography, but high end DSLRs are just too expensive...
I work with a lowly CANON 400D,
a kit lens
and a borrowed 75-300mm telephoto...
Can u afford a CANON 5D?
I can't!
Even tho I would love to work with a full frame.
I am 200% sure that EVIL is the answer..
Watch out!! 3 years from now DSLRs will be history...

Sorry, Praful, I just don't buy it. The real point of owning an SLR is the glass you can attach to it. If you have to use your existing SLR lenses to get the most out of an EVIL camera (and I'm sure you do), then the size argument - which seems to be basically the only argument in their favour - goes out the window. - Aidan (still using even lowlier 350D ;))

I also disagree with the article. My belief is that these EVIL cameras will be more of a challenge for high end point and shoots like the Canon G9 then DSLR.

That article is pure lame, and that guy for sure has never owned or even used a DSLR...

And because they have large sensors, the depth of field is shallower, and you can throw a distracting background out of focus.

HUH? If he can write that.....??? The sensors are only large compared to a point and shoot not a full frame 5D
