“That guy of all people!” flashed through Marco’s mind. In the third semester of his biology program at South Owan University, there was the first experimental lab class, and the randomly assigned teams of two had appeared on the large electronic whiteboard in the seminar room. Next to his name, “Marco Slowik,” he read “Yosuke Kawaki.” A quick glance around the room revealed Yosuke sitting right there; he looked straight over at Marco and gave a mock military-style salute with two fingers touching his forehead, though his expression seemed somewhat annoyed.
