Mk. 19 Mod 0 Emplacement - 2/9th Infantry Division

This is an NOSL Mk. 19 Mod 0 40mm Automatic Grenade Launcher emplaced around FOB Stargazer, seen here being operated by two US Army soldiers while the base was being approached by GPC forces to the North. Capable of firing at a cyclical rate of 360 RPM, The Mk. 19 grenade launcher can be mounted to a multitude of vehicles (Helicopters, Riverine craft, Warships, Humvees, etc), or alternatively on a tripod mount when being used in a defensive position. It fires from a 32 round grenade belt and has an effective firing range of 1,500 meters, and is able to be used against enemy Light Armoured Vehicles and infantry formations to great effect. Being a crew-served weapon, it requires at least two operators when mounted on a fixed position in order to ensure maximum efficacy, with a gunner and a loader being present. The most commonly used cartridge for the Mk. 19 is the M430 HE Dual-purpose 40x53mm Grenade.
