Silver Monkey Assembled

Well, that was different. This was the first model I've ever built with cardstock. Not really hard, just tedious. Took a lot longer than usual since I had to take extra care in making all of the folds... but whatever.

NOTE:</b> For any prospective builders, only use cardstock if you think your model is going to see a lot of handling (or if you just prefer cardstock to regular paper). It's not really worth the extra effort if it's just going to be "look-only".

Don't be daunted by the 10 pages of parts for this model, it isn't very complex. The only reason for so many is the scale at which it builds to. I wanted to make this as close to "full scale" as I could (I estimate between 18-24 inches, 46-61 cm), but any larger than its current 11 inches (28 cm) would require either some messy broken-up parts and/or access to a printer capable of handling more than just 8.5x11 inch paper. If anyone does have access to such a printer, I would love to see a scaled up build... hint hint ;)

So you don't have to ask, yes, this model is "disassemble-able", by means of the 2 pegs between the head/torso and torso/base (see picture at the end of the pieces PDF document). I also got lazy again and didn't write instructions, so I've uploaded the pepakura file in their place.

the reason difficulty of the silver monkey is that when they filmed episodes they would shoot 6 eps a day in order of games
6 moat opening challenges
6 steps of knowledge
6 temple games then by 12 sometime 1 am they'd finally shoot the temple runs and the kids are practically zombies trying to run trough the course
but yeah still ridiculous its 3 pieces

I've logged into my DA account for the first time in 4 years to tell you thank you ... My friends are doing something related to Legends of the Hidden Temple and we went looking for something we could use as the monkey. I found this via google and am now making it :)

a bit of it is artistic interpretation, as I really couldn't find a lot of good shots of the real thing... but I did my best!

As a kid I always sorta wondered if they were specifically told not to properly assemble this thing...seriously THREE PIECES IS NOT HARD

This is awesome. I really wish I had the money to get new ink for my printer...I would make this and display it proudly

Legends of the Hidden Temple flashbacks!!! I always thought it was so pathetic when contestants couldn't figure out this puzzle...I mean, really? Base/feet, then the torso, then the head...not so difficult...

I was planning on attending SDCC this year as a zombied version of a contestant- but I needed a Silver Monkey to have with me. I didn't know how I was going to attempt this, and then I found this.

And you are now a hero. A HERO.
