Description

This is the unnamed character from the Sega Dreamcast (and later PlayStation 2) game, Rez. This one comes with... "partial instructions". Go to the link below, Piece Assembly Guide, to see what order they all go in, as all the pieces are numbered.

To assemble, I just used some thin craft wire I had lying around, probably from A.C. Moore or some such place. Using a thumb tack, puncture a hole through the center of most of the pieces, as shown in the above-mentioned guide, and offset as necessary for the others. I started with each leg, then the 'torso', twisted a long strand of wire around the top of the torso's wire for the arms, then did the head and finally the arms themselves. To attach the boxes to the wire, i just put a little glue on the wire where each box is supposed to go, then slid the box over the glue, making sure there was at least a little glue on the outer edge to help stabilize it. Getting the 2 biggest blocks of each foot to stay put gave me the most trouble though. For them, I actually used a tiny bit of gorilla glue.

As for the stand, I used 4 strands of the same wire I used before. However, I do NOT recommend this, try to find something thicker than what you used for the model itself, as it will be too shaky to hold him sturdily. You can make them any height you choose, I staggered them a bit and gave it a slope to simulate how he(she?) looks in the game. The base is just a circular piece of cardboard. Each of the four lengths of wire are hot-glued to the base, and the model simply rests on the base. I suppose you could glue the model to the base if you really wanted to, but there's no need.
