This is Bettys uncle in the Netherlands. It caused me a great deal of inner struggle. I came back from the Netherlands full of confidence that I could come close to the masterpieces I saw there. It was all there for me to work with. The wonderful Holland light, a subject that I admired (Bram) and a new enthusiam for art.

I love how you've painted the shirt, the creases are perfect... those stripes must have been tedious 
The lighting on the face is very nice and there is some good contrasts between the figure and the background. The atmosphere is very cosy and mellow and I like that
