For use with Dungeons and Dragons / Fantasy RPG miniatures (28mm/25mm)

Barrows are perfect for quick high and low level adventures - more of an "encounter" really. Barrows don't have to be just inhabited by the undead. ;)

I did this one a while ago, coloured it in tonight in PSP. When I first drew it (in pen) I was experimenting with ways of representing the 5ft grid without using flagstone tiles, or an imposed grid. I hope to use a similar technique with forest floorplans.

(the squares should roughly equal 1 inch /5ft scale on the final print out)

I think if you're gonna improve the gridlines, do it at the corners. I like the way they're quite loosely defined, although perhaps it could be tightened up a little...

I really like the shadows from the walls and the sand textures. Original file size is YUGE though!

P.S. Not sure I understand what a barrow is though.

I mean barrow as in a mound of earth like the ship shaped Sutton Hoo burial site and the Barrow Downs in Lord of the Rings where the hobbits meet the wights (not in the cartoon or film, hmm). :)

I'm having some real difficulty getting the print size right - each square is one 1inch. I'd use a pdf to control the dimensions, but the software I have tends to ruin the picture itself. The file is set to 150 dots per inch which is for quality printing, but web browsers tend to treat dpi a little differently. I'll have to reduce the dimensions so it's closer to 96dpi. Interestingly enough, compared to photos of the same dimensions the kb-file-size isn't that bad. I'll make it a priority to make them more "web-friendly".

This looks very nice, but I think you could have made the grid lines a bit more defined. As they are now I think they could be overlooked. Another pebble here and there would work wonders...
But that's just my oppinion...

Actually I'm inclined to agree with you there. It's slightly too vague as it is.
Thanks for commenting dude. :)
