Lady Sandra. Chapter 13

A Story Dedicated to Sandra-xx

Lady Sandra was focused on the knight she was approaching to attack, and she didn't see coming the surprise attack on both of her flanks. She had been caught in a pincer movement by the enemy.

A woman attacked from Lady Sandra's left hand side, knowing that she would out range Lady Sandra's sword that was in her right hand. The attacking knight would have the advantage of thrusting from a greater distance, out of danger of Sandra's sword.

Lady Sandra was trained for this. She simply parried the thrust, and simply steered Memphis closer to her adversary, so that she was within range. She was just about to thrust and finish off her opponent, when another enemy appeared on her right with a long handled battleaxe. Before Lady Sandra could react, the enemy knight swung her axe.

The blow from the axe nearly knocked Lady Sandra from her saddle. It hit her right in the middle of her breastplate. It was a blow so powerful, that had she been wearing her old armour, it would have easily sliced through the steel and into her body. But today, Lady Sandra was wearing her new heat-treated hardened armour. The blow from the axe barely made a mark on her armour, but the inertia from the blow was powerful enough to be felt painfully across her body, and it knocked the breath from her lungs. Lady Sandra knew she wouldn't be able to withstand many more blows from the axe. She had to act. Fast.
