- Tasakeru Book II Chapter 4: 13.5 pages done
- Shattered Skies Chapter 18: 6 pages done
- Magical girl photo project: Temporary hold
Cripes, this week. I'm writing this from my laptop, as my desktop is currently unplugged and will be for the next two days while renovation is done on my room. I'm rooming with my dog in a small nearby rental cottage starting tomorrow morning. Preparing for renovation involves temporarily relocating almost the entire contents of my room, so you'll understand if I've been a little preoccupied this week.
As if that weren't baffling enough, I'm continuing the byzantine process of getting Book I self-published. I had hoped to have it out today, on the 7th anniversary of the launch of Tasakeru.com, but it was just too complicated to pull off. If all goes well and things settle down, I could still be up and running as soon as early July, but I'm not counting on that.
Adding to my exhaustion this week is a chain of events that I will not reveal, except to say that it feels like the universe is mocking me and my attempts to embrace being (possibly) aromantic.
On a lighter note, Sailor Moon Crystal Season 3 went out in style today, and in a pleasant surprise, the second half of the finale all but confirmed that Season 4 is coming. Finally we'll get to see the Dream arc done right, but more importantly, this also means we have a really good shot of seeing a Crystal version of Stars in the future. Now that will be a spectacular undertaking, but Season 3 shows that the series is in very good hands. I can't wait.
Space Patrol Luluco also ended on Friday, and right to the end it stuck with being gloriously batshit crazy. This series probably flew under a lot of radars, but if you're a fan of FLCL. Gurren Lagann, Panty and Stocking, or Kill La Kill, you owe it to yourself to check it out. Each episode is approximately seven minutes of pure Imaishi lunacy, and I love every second.
Anyway, that's it from your temporarily displaced author this week. Next week: MORE DAKKA.

The end of Season 3 is a pretty dead giveaway that there is a Season 4 in the works, that's what I said. They ended on the first half of the Dream arc's first chapter, and they wouldn't do so unless they were intending to finish it.
I'm more disappointed than ever in Mahou Tsukai, honestly. They took the one cool thing about the show, which was Dokurokushe's design, and when he finally got up off his ass and did something after 18 episodes of nothing, he almost immediately ditched it for an awful, cartoony "powered-up" form that wasn't at all scary. Even worse, he's now apparently been purified, before the new Cure could even show up. The show has gotten rid of all its villains, INCLUDING the Big Bad, in around six or seven weeks, which is shamefully bad storytelling. Who are the Cures supposed to fight now? What's the point of continuing to watch?
Fair enough I did notice the teaser just hadn't heard anything official so I asked.
I haven't seen the most recent ones yet (lack of subtitles) but I can't really share your disappointment yet though if they did get rid of the bad guys that can be good/bad as what's next may redeem the season slightly or condemn it further. But I do like all the magic stuff going down except for Topaz, I do not like that form. Anyways I digress on that I've started HeartCatch by the way it's pretty good!
