Fan Characters are 'FAN' characters

This journal isn't even worth putting my CSS on. Ok this is something thats really been bothering me when it comes to the sonic fandom. As some of you know I have 1 and only 1 fancharacter Goth shes resembles shadow greatly n looks like a cross between shadow and amy. But shes a fan character not an original character. Fan characters don't have to be original thats not what they are made to be; when you make a fan character you make the character for a world that has already been created in this case the sonic world. Goth for example is a shadow clone that came out as a girl thats why she looks like shadow. If you want to be original you should make an original character. How do you know your character is original? Well ask yourself these questions: Does your character belong to a world you did not create? Does your character interact/relate with characters you did not create? Is your character a recolor or closely resembles a character you do not own? If you answered yes to any of these questions more then likely your character is a fan character. Listen ppl I understand you shouldn't recolor and steal other ppl's ideas but you can't force fan characters to be original when they can't be original. In order for a character to be original everything about them must be made by you that means the world they live in, the ppl in their lives, and even the way they look it must all be yours. And this is difficult and somewhat impossible on that last part because as artists we all learn from each other thats why we sometimes cling to styles that are not our own and why no artist can ever own a style thats right ppl you can make an original character in sonic style good luck w/ that though honestly if you want ppl to think your original you should make your own style its not easy but its worth it in the end. I'm not saying nyone should give up on drawing fancharacters honestly I draw everything so I dont quite understand the concept on giving up on a style. Since I've always been a jack of all styles I dont understand artists that stick with one but I do understand what makes a character original. So lets face it guys fan characters can't be original so lets not force them to be. later.
